Anyone else here watch this game last night? What did you think ?

Good battle by FCD but SOLAR was not on their A game....Anything can happen during this QT

Solar Red not near the team they used to be. Prob not even top 5 anymore.

When season start we'll see. I think main focus is to win your bracket this weekend!

I guess no one else saw or heard anything about it, or maybe they just don't want to comment? I think the correct team won the group due to the goal diff. but I don't think that was the way it should have went down. Oh well, as is the game of soccer!!

I normally do not post, but have to give credit where credit is due.
I saw some of the game and thought that FCD did an awesome job. Let me see, Solar Red was not on their A game? Could that be an excuse? All I can say is that both teams did well and, I agree, anything can happen during qualifying. FCD showed up to play and they played well. I give them a lot of credit.

I was'nt there to watch but heard the officiating was kinda rough. I was looking for an unbiased opinion.

I have no kid involved but did watch all but the first 5 minutes of the game. I apparently missed the first goal that was a drop back kick off (by solar) that was sent directly into a run by the fc dallas forward who put it away. The rest of the game was possession dominated by solar who was unable to capitalize on many opportunities. FC Dallas goalie played a great game but had an unfortunate last shot that went between her legs for the game winning goal with only seconds left.

Officiating was suspect at times.

I will agree with the ref's was involved more then normal, but get ready for LH IT'S GET WORSE .....

I appreciate the advice about whats to come. I also have a sixteen year old that has played in LHGCl for a while and am very used to the officiating.I myself have played well into my late thirties and know how referees work. I assume you are biased so your opinion doesnt interest me, thanks. Everyone had a predetermined opinion of who would win this group and they obviously worked hard to make it happen. The fact that you admit the refs were "more involved than normal" basically makes my point. It's a shame that This is necessary at this age group and you are correct, we will see how things turn out throughout the season. Maybe then, in the absence of predictions, we will get a fair shake. But then again, maybe the refs will still think the "favored" teams will need additional help, when in fact they did'nt.

Once you play in a few tournaments in Houston or San Antonio, you will think LH is pretty decent. I am not sure that they use the same rules down there.

My sixteen year old has played all over the state, thanks. Just because it happens everywhere doesnt make it any more correct.

Do you really believe the referees read the predictions on this website, then go out to make sure the "favored" team gets a little extra help?

If so, you are delusional. This is U-11 soccer. If things didn't go the way you wanted/expected it to, that doesn't necessarily mean someone else is at fault.

I don't believe the refs react to this website but to think that the refs are "insulated" from the discussion is also dilusional. People not involved agree the officiating was "suspect" at times. The team that won the group deserved to win it hands down, they just didnt need the "suspect" officiating to help.

And to be clear, they went the way I expected, just did'nt agree with how it happened.

My kid has also played "all over the state" and in LH for years. There will always be "suspect" officiating. I will say, while the officiating was "suspect" - I didn't notice a bias one way or the other. I saw bad calls and no calls both ways and seemingly proportionate.

I've read other posts criticizing officiating, but yours is the only one I read that characterized it as "suspect" and that they believe that it was impacted by which team was deemed to be the favorite.

You seem to be the only one saying that. Hopefully you didn't go through this with your 16 year old, 'cause if you did, there must have been some long years in there.

Once again, read the first post. If you did not see the game I am not asking for your input. I did not describe the officiating as "suspect", someone who WATCHED the game and had no child involved did. Unlike most, I am not here to start a fight. I am not watching Americas next top model while reading this post. I am looking for opinions from people who WATCHED the game and were not emotionally involved in order to determine if my view of the way the game went is incorrect. I, unlike most, understand that because i am emotionally involved my opion is skewed. please pick another post to get into a fight, Thanks.
