LHQT seeding committee got it right for the top teams this past weekend. The should be congratulated for getting it right! The qualified teams are good so they belong to top tier D1 next year. May be the gap between the top 5-6 teams has narrowed as we saw DT, Dynamo and Texas South played dominant team soccer. But the teams that did not qualify had obvious weakness that prevented them from being one of the top teams. What they will play for the second weekend is to determine the second tier teams (practically a D2 league) versus the third teams (D3). It is time for the teams to play their best soccer and prove that they belong to D2. If the teams are good, playing 6 games (3 games this past weekend and 3 games this coming weekend) should be enough to show what they can consistently do ON THE FIELD. One good game performance is not enough to claim that you are good! STOP blaming others (LHQT, seedings, weather, toilets, uniforms) for what your teams could not do on the field. It is time to find something else more important to do with your time and let your girls play their soccer.

Generally would agree but not completely. My guess is probably 2-3 of week 2 bracket winners will finish first year ahead of some week one winners. And the same with some who slip to D3 that will run away with it and move back in to what will be D2.

The fun part is watching it all play out.

...and I guarantee that the teams the "slip to D3 and run away with it, and move back in to what will be D2" will have a LOT more fun this year than those last couple of teams in D1 that get the series of 4-0, 5-0, 6-0, 7-0, and 8-0 beatdowns handed to them by the top 10 teams in D1 this coming year.

She was on the beatdown end of D1.
Also, the lowest seeds in D1 league will have the hardest early schedules. Get too far behind and making top 10 is pretty much out of the question.

Just because team plays D1, D2, or D3 doesn’t meant they are of that caliber. It is a format to better match levels of play and to create an organized structure for the girls to compete and gain as athletes and young people. Everything has flaws but there is a lot of good in it too.
