Re: QT Week 2 Brackets (by seed in bracket)
This is definitely different from how LHGCL has done things the past 2 years, but two years ago, all of the week #1 brackets were 4 teams, and last year, there was only 1 3-team bracket in week #1.
Based on where they placed FC Dallas West, this is my guess as to what the seeding committee actually did this year:
In week #1, Andro Blue, Lady Titans, and FC Dallas West weren't the #25, #26, #27 seeds. Andromeda was the #25 seed, Sting Parker #26, LP Keegean #27, and so on. LP Nicol was actually #42, FC Dallas West #43, Lady Titans #44, and Andro Blue #45.
Like Bortz said, they actually treated FCD West, LT, & Andro Blue as #4 seeds, not #3 seeds. All 2nd placed teams and 3rd placed teams from 4-team brackets advanced to week #2. For the last placed teams, they used % of total possible points to determined who advanced and got placed where. FCD West was actually the highest 4th placed team (4/20 = 20% of possible points) instead of either FWFC or FCD Red (4/30 = 13% of possible points). Andro Blue & Lady Titans advanced over the other 4th placed teams that scored 0 points because they only had 2 games vs. 3 games to try and get at least 1 goal.
Kinda sucks for the 4th place teams that did get eliminated, but I guess you make the case that each of those teams had 1 game against an opponent that was lower seeded than either of the opponents of the teams in the 3 team brackets, and if you can't even score a single goal against that #3 seed, you probably don't really have any argument that your team should advance to week #2.
Anyway, unless someone is on the DL with a member of the QT seeding committee, I guess we will never know for certain (although I don't know why they just can't be 100% above board with the process ).
Anyway... good luck to all in week #2!

That is probably the missing link that makes all of this makes sense.

Re: QT Week 2 Brackets (by seed in bracket)
You could argue whether Dynasty or Gio are the best teams left--you would probably get an argument from teams like Sting Parker, Solar Stark, Andromeda and a couple others. But the brackets seem pretty balanced overall
Best games this weekend might be...
Liverpool Keegan v. Sting Parker
Andromeda v. Solar Stark
Solar Gio v. Saints
These games may be for all the marbles in their respective brackets and should be intense.
Anyway I doubt many or any have a legit complaint this weekend.

Re: QT Week 2 Brackets (by seed in bracket)
This will not be the case this year, some teams will make D1-2 that don't belong there, several teams will not make L/H at all even though they are clearly better than some that did. To go back after the first weekend and treat mid twenty seeded teams like they are the bottom seeded teams makes no since, and just adds more suspicion that politics were involved in the first place.

Specifically, what politics do you believe were in place that benefited what teams or conversely, hurt what teams.
This is the second time I've noticed someone throwing this out, so I'd like to know what you suspect happened.

Actually, after going back over this thread, you are the person that has twice brought up the argument that politics were somehow involved in the seeding.
Seeding and ranking of teams involves opinions and subjective information, some more than others, whether you're talking about Gotsoccer, FBR, NationalSoccerRanking, etc. If Lake Highlands ranks them differently than you do, does that necessarily mean that "politics" are in play?
Looks like your dd's team is Crush '02. Were they seeded improperly? Would a higher (or lower) seed have improved the week one results? Is your team one that should have made it but didn't?
Sometimes it just is what it is. There isn't always some nefarious plot to boost some team to the detriment of another.

Re: QT Week 2 Brackets (by seed in bracket)
What team are you with?
I am not saying anything here that has not already been said. L/H on crack, politics, whatever, the point is L/H had some very good history from K/T and Puma to go from, so how did they get it so wrong is the question here. In my opinion here are the teams they were way off on, and the implications of that.
1. Sting Parker seeded 29th. Finished a strong 2nd in
Plat-B going 1-3-0 against a strong field. Team should have had a top 15 seed and probably would have made D-1 the first weekend.
2. Lady Titans seeded 27th. No history to pull from that I know of, normally would have been seeded at the bottom unless L/H had some inside info. If they did it was way off.
3. F/C west seeded 26th. Played K/T gold and went 0-1-2 giving up 13 goals. Compare to Cosmos seeded 34th that played K/T and went 0-2-2 giving up only 4 goals.
4. Polaris seeded 23rd. Played Puma and tied L/P rush seeded 30th. Lost to FWFC seeded 39th.
5. Andro Blue seeded 25. Lost the L/P nicol seeded 45th in the K/T, and struggled in the bronze bracket.
6. F/C Thompson red seeded 33rd. Lost to L/P nicol seeded 45th and Crush seeded 44th in the K/T.
7. L/P nicol seeded 45th. Beat andro blue seeded 25th and F/C red seeded 35th in the K/T.
Team that will not make it in as a direct result of very poor seeding are.
Dallas Kicks & TX Thunder both knocked out the first week.
Two Liverpool teams, which two? Tbd

My dd is long gone from qualifying tournaments, I was just intrigued by your multiple references to "politics":
"Their was clearly some politics involved here"
"just adds more suspicion that politics were involved in the first place"
Since you were accusing the league of allowing "politics" to influence their seeding, I asked you to point out what those politics were, and what teams were impacted by those politics.
You've now changed your approach from the political accusations and have broadened them to "L/H on crack, politics, whatever".
You did get one thing right: that these were your opinions. They had theirs, which differed from yours, and apparently from a lot of others.
Seeding is indeed important. I don't know what LH's seeding criteria is, and there were certainly seeds that seemed odd to me, based on what I have read in these threads, but they may have been right on target with whatever criteria they have in place. You present wins and losses at KT and Puma, but certainly the LH representatives must have been looking at more than W/L records, or why would they bother going to the tournaments? Why not simply take the scores off the website instead?
You also stated that: "If lake highlands does a good and fair job in seeding q/t the top 30 teams will make it in. Maybe a couple of close calls but everyone is pretty much where they should be."
This is not necessarily true. You talk as if the whole purpose of the QT (and the team's participation in the QT), is to be seeded into a bracket with teams that you can easily beat, gaining entrance into the league. Unfortunately, you still have to play the games.
Again my questions were in relation to your accusations of politics, not so much whether seeding was right, wrong, or indifferent. I'm sure each year some teams make it in that might have been better off in Plano or Arlington, and that some teams ended up there that would have competed well in LH.
Its an imperfect system, and its why they play the games.

Two Liverpool teams, which two? Tbd
FC Dallas Premier was the 1 seed, Andro Blue was 45
Dallas Texans Higgy was the 2 and FCD West was 44
Solar Red Colvin was 3 and Titans were 43
The problem was allowing your 3 lowest seeded teams a trip to the second weekend because they were in a group of 3. I am sure LH will look at this for future Tournaments.
Someone posted on the site that Andro was 25, West 26 and Titans 27 and you guys take it as gospel.
