'03 FBR Rankings - 9-21-12
'03 FBR Rankings - 9-21-12
FBR currently contains game results from 6/1/12 - Present
If your favorite team is not showing up in the FBR, it is because I do not have 3 game results vs. '03 competition since 6/1/12.
If you think your favorite team moved inappropriately based on last week's results, keep in mind that I am deleting old games on a weekly basis as well, and results from Memorial Day Weekend tournaments were deleted in this most recent ranking
Current Inter-Tier Records

Re: '03 FBR Rankings - 9-21-12
FCD Diaz loses to then #9 (now #7) and moves up 1 spot
Sting Scarfone ties #2 and moves down 2 spots
FCD East Black wins over then #12 (now #13) and moves down 2 spots
SRSA Missimo (B) enters the FBR for the first time at #9 with 3-0-0 record vs then #26 (now #31), then #28 (now #33) and then #40 (now #48)
In my Herman Boone voice the FBR may be "like penicillin...just give it time and it always works" but boy it seems a bit weird now.
I know... I know there is a mathematical explanation.

And the scary part is SRSA "B" team can prolly beat #2-5 teams.

Please read the notes I posted at the start of the rankings post this week. I know that there is "inappropriate" movement based solely on what happened last week. It is because in addition to adding in last week's results, I deleted out the oldest week of results.
In this case, the oldest week of results was the week that included the Memorial Day tournaments, so several top teams had multiple games deleted from their history. In some cases, the quality of the deleted results were significantly better or worse than the most recent week's results, so the team moves in a direction that is different from what you would expect if you were only looking at last week's results.
I have stated several times in the past, that I wish FBR had a "sliding weight" factor that would allow me to give less weight to older results. While this wouldn't completely eliminate this issue, it would reduce it's impact quite a bit. However, I haven't been able to convince the FBR guys to add this feature yet.
If you take a look at the points column, what you see is that #4-#8 are currently VERY close to one another. What this means is that depending how you look at results and weigh different factors, you could probably make a legitimate argument for those 5 teams to be ranked in just about any order.

Never mind... you are right they could probably beat #2-5 and definitely #1. I'll stop here as there is no need to tug on Superman's cape.Tokenone wrote:outonthelimb wrote:

I read the lead in at the top of the rankings but I stopped after you said "if you think your favorite team moved inappropriately..." My favorite team moved inappropriately when they signed Jay Cutler (sour puss) and then decided to protect him with a line that my 12 year old son could penetrate.bwgophers wrote:outonthelimb wrote:

Regarding the FBR, I digress...carry on.

Three games per Saturday (TGPL gold, TGPL silver, TBPL gold) and who knows what they do Sunday- I would say more like upper 20s yo pull that off.
