Not that it matter much but I had the score Solar 6 LP 1.
Solar scored 5 goals in first half with the wind.
In 2nd half Solar scored 1 and LP scored 1 right at end of game.
So I like to think of it as 2 games. Solar won first game 5-0. Paisley tied Solar 1-1 in the other.....lol. Pailsey played their game and didnt pack the box.
We must have been watching different games. Solar didn't pack the box. They played their passing game well, stayed spread out and passed the ball around very well.
Please point out where in my post I stated that Solar packed the box?
It is hard to read your intent in your original post with your comment about you thinking of it as two games. Then you started your excuses of the wind being a factor, and that LP didn't pack the box. What was the intent of that? Because "packing the box" has been used against Solar in the past. Why not just come out and say the teams played well and give credit where credit is due? smh
My "intent" was to say that Paisley(which most would consider the 4th LP team) played Kennington strait up. Even though Kennington is way more superior in talent and about 20 spots higher in rankings, Paisley didn't just pack the box and try to limit scoring like other teams out matched would of probably done. We kept our forwards up connected some passes and was on your end of the field more than I thought we would of been, considering the ranking descrepancy. I'm not doubting Solar at all, matter of fact I thought they were awesome and that's why I was proud that our girls played you guys man up and actually did some great things. Do you disagree that we didn't play you guys man up? Did we pack the box? We played you guys strait up and took a butt kicking. As for the 2 games comment, what I ment was in the 2nd half both teams only scored 1 goal appiece. Against you guys, I think that is great for our team...even if you guys switched positions around. Paisley has been around for about a month in a half, we have no goalie(as you could tell by our first GK trying to stop all shots with her feet)all girls just take turns at GK like I'm sure other teams do. You guys definately were the most aggressive and won 80% of the 50-50 balls and out shot us probably 25-5. If our girls would just shoot the ball more in the 18' box instead of trying to dribble thru traffic for a clear shot, we might of made a little better game of it! Oh, and one last thing....it was windy Saturday and regardless of what you think wind does have an affect, especially when going against a team like Solar that has cannons for legs. And, of course we had the wind also in the 2nd half and mananged only 1 goal.
Points taken and appreciate the clarification, understand your 2-game comment now. Completely agree that LP was spread out and played hard right until the end. With the the passing Solar was doing, many other teams would have slowed down and made less of an attempt to go after the ball towards the end. The way this LP team played, I would not have thought they were 20 spots or so below in rankings. I do think the wind and cold had an affect on both teams, either direction, whether it was trying to score, pass back, goal kicks, etc.
