U11 moving into U12 – (i) relegate 8 DI teams to DII; promote 2 DIII teams to DII and (ii) relegate 2 DI teams to DIII, (iii) 4 DIII teams may re-enter through the Qualification Tournament.

Looking at the inability of some teams in D3 to score enough goals per game, they better figure it out pretty quick. The top 4 teams in Plano D1 have figured it out. Even though its pretty early, I'll bet that the 3 of the 4 teams that have to requalify are gonna get replaced by the top Plano teams that are scoring more than 3 a game while allowing way less than a goal every two games. There is a team in Plano that has yet to allow a goal in 9 games. If your team in in the relegation zone, better start playing like every game is the superbowl because you don't want to be there come May.

Oh so scoring is how you win? Thanks for the heads up, I am sure the bottom four will appreciate the input, as I am sure they havent been working on that all season.
You are not comparing apples to apples. Those D3 teams, even the bottom, have also beaten many of the Plano teams you are talking about. Yes a couple of Plano teams very well could move up next year, however, Is it possible that you could switch any one team out of lower D3/and upper Plano teams and perhaps have the same records? Maybe? Maybe not? Although alot of the competition is very good in Plano, not all of it is, but all of it is good in Lake Highlands. (the scores do not show the whole picture if you are not playing the same teams!)

I agree, its hard to tell when they aren't the same teams. I think you could interchange some teams from D3/upper Plano teams and results may be similar.

Yep, scoring is how you win. I've never seen a team win on zero goals in regular league play. All I'm saying is it is real hard to stay in a league if you ain't scoring one goal per game. I'm not saying you don't deserve to be there because you may be competitive every game because your defense keeps it close. Its way harder if you ain't averaging one goal every two games against your peers. If you go back and look at past results for the 97s, 98s, 99s, 00s, 01s, only once (97s) did a girls classic D3 team stay safe and avoid having to requalify while averaging less than one goal per game.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but of the 8 total '00 and '01 teams that finished in the last 4 places of D3 the last 2 years at U11... Exactly ZERO requalified for D3 at U12.
For the '01's, 3 of those 4 teams went "poof" and never even made it to QT.
Something about spending a year getting beat up in LHGCL, only to have to face another QT seems to take it's toll on the parents (notice I said parents, not DD's). While those that spend the year piling up W's in Plano or Arlington hit the U12 QT intact and with momentum...

I too, know the stats on the LH D3 requalifying situation. My issue with your post was, that you were stating an obvious, thus it was being a bit condescending telling the teams they need to score to stay in the league and comparing the scoring situation between competing with LH teams all year vs the Plano teams. (not the same, eventhough I believe there are a couple teams that could do at least what the 4 lower D3 teams are doing now)

Sorry if I came across not like I was thinking. I wasn't trying to slam on anybody. The reality is it don't matter what you did as a team last month or last four months. What matters is getting better faster than your competition. If your team ain't scoring but you are getting into the opponent 18 box at least 4 - 6 times each half, you are getting close to scoring 1 per game. If you get the team to where it is scoring more than 1 goal per game in the last 5 games of the season in the Spring, you probably will requalify. The goal is to finish the season much better than when you started. But if you are only getting into shooting position in the other team's box twice a half, it might be time to shake things up somehow with the strategy or with the coach or the player positions.

Yeah, I didn't think of the whole psychology behind teams going poof. Those top Plano and Arlington teams being full of confidence is tough enough.

Agreed. The girls are definitly are working hard to stay in the game, but then again so is everyone else! Have a great day, hombre!
