Disclaimer:
I used the pronoun ‘he' to describe the coach but that doesn’t mean he was a he.

Kixr4kids started the topic, but apparently after I posted my non RASE Dalglish story he/she removed the original post.and I didn't think my story was that bad.

It wasn't bad, it was a nice story, I just didn't get it as it related to the topic. But if the origional topics post was removed then that might explain why it feels out of place

In a perfect world....go99 wrote:thats true. I think there are more parents who played soccer now than before. Still I think most are not fans of the game, just fans of watching their kids play the game. The tough part for coaches now though is that there are more parents who understand what good soccer looks like and are starting to demand more from the coaches. Hopefully we will come to a time when "how" you play becomes more of a factor than your wins and losses

Its always better to play all the minutes in a lesser team, than half time in a better team.

I'm not sure playing 100% is always better. Just the 3+ hours of training a week with better players should be an advantage. There is nothing like game time though but is half a game with great competition better than a full game with lesser competition? In the end it depends on the player.
PS My story was a fairy tale mixed with a good dose of sarcasm.

Cleansheets wrote:I agree with you 100% Sweet. You summed it up perfectly with your last sentence,"You enjoy watching her develop". I feel the same with my dd. Sure, everyone wants to win and we are all guilty of getting lost in the heat of a good game, but our true enjoyment comes from seeing our dds grow and become better players learning from their mistakes and applying what their taught, win lose or draw.
Love it, and THAT is all based on the best coach for your daughter - not the "best coach" according to the parents... If mistakes are allowed, then they learn, if they are not and winning is the objective at all costs, then they learn nothing of making mistakes in a learning environment - better they learn those mistakes now then in a year or two when those mistakes WILL have an impact.
