If I get it correctly in LHGCL - the top teams in U11 Div.III in the first year can only achieve a slot in Div II for the following year - What happens if any of the top Teams in Div.III are really candidates for a DI slot in the following year. I could see that a D.III may have had poor qualifier and a D.1 team may have 'overshot'.
Should there be a shootout for the last slots in Div.1 ?

Lol, no, thats what qualifying is about. Where you land is where you land and then the performance of the teams is what moves them up or down....

I agree it stands the way if falls. If a D3 team is truly a D1 team then by U13 they should be there with a lot of hard work. By the end of U11 they should be a top 2 team in D3 to move them to D2 for U12. By the end of U12 they should be #1 in top D2 and take a spot in D1 for U13.

1 game shouldn't dictate team #10 losing D1 to a D3 team. In qualifying we all had multiple games to have our chance at D1 or D3. These are 11yr old girls and as we all know we don't know how a game will go. We can make educated guesses from past games but these girls are unpredictable.

There are 20 teams that will make D1 at U11, at U12 it drops to 10. If they don't make D1 the first year they are not a D1 team period!
