07 NTX League Feedback

What have you liked, or disliked, so far about your team's league this season? With so few teams playing at the moment, it could be beneficial to find out the pros and cons of each league around Dallas for future reference.  I assume most teams picked their leagues this season based on location.
 
*How many refs?
*Quality of refs?
*Are the fields too big or small?
*Are the goals too big or small?
*Too many, or too few players relative to pitch size?
*Level of competition?
*League organization/scheduling
*Quality of fields?
*Subs on the fly or at stoppages of play?
*Size of the penalty area?

I think you already know on UAL and PSA, so I will not cover all the questions you asked- other than to say the referees have been poor at best, but not sure that causes too many development issues so mostly just a frustration point for me and not something that would impact our desire to play in the league again at this age.

The one thing I would like to see is that the Plano, Allen, Frisco, McKinney, Richardson, Carrolton, Prosper, etc. based teams try to come together this spring in one or maybe two leagues. For whatever reason we seem to be playing all over the map or they are not playing at all. Obviously some teams are going to prefer to play up and others stay in their age group, but as long as we are in the same leagues it should work better for everyone I would think.

PT. Fields are ok, refs, well....you get what you get in academy. Competition is spotty at best as the divisions are not properly aligned. Whether this is due to overreaching coaches or a lack of information is hard to say. But a team that loses 0-9, then wins 7-0 or wins 6-0, then loses 0-12 says just maybe the divisions are not right.

Thats why the ISTAND non-rankings will be out soon! We'll take the info we are able to get and respect those that don't want to post. But maybe we can get the Spring leagues more in line competitively.

Speaking of leagues, anybody know where the Comets FC 07 is out of? They're handling PT Silver pretty well!

That sounds good.  LP Gerrard and Owen will most likely continue to only play v 06s.  Just depends on what's going on.  

PSA at Jack Carter fields has been a positive experience. Perfect goal size, field size and refs have been good. Will more than likely play here again.

SDL LP Gerrard signed up to play v 06s and all 8 games have been scheduled v the same 3 07 teams.  Goals are too big, refs have been below average, but the field size and subbing on the fly are a bonus.
