Spring season Week 1 predictions for 02's

My daughter is in D3, so I will make my predictions for that division only.

FWFC v. Premier:  FWFC wins by at least 2 goals.

LVP Dalglish v. LVP Thompson:  Thompson in a close game, maybe 2-1

LVP Owen v. Andro:  These two teams played last weekend and Andro won.  I am impressed with the improvement Andro has made.  Owen is quicker, so it should be the best match of the day.  I will go with Andro to win again, probably in a high-scoring battle.

Dallas Rush v. FC Dallas Barnes:  Barnes has made roster changes, but I don't think it will be enough.  I will take Rush by at least 2 goals.

DFeeters v. Mustangs:  Mustangs:  Mustangs get off to a good start and win easily.

Did not expect the DFeeters v. Mustang result.

Pretty one-sided game in favor of Feet, score closer than game was. Feet team maturing in style of play, will be tough this spring, only question is can they make up enough ground from lackluster fall showing. Also heard they had a nice pick-up recently that will be in the line-up next game.

Roster changes definitely did not appear to be "enough". Although I would add that thanks to our Fall manager and her lack of aptitude for paperwork, we had a pretty strong player riding the pine ( Rush Vs. FcD Barnes). Don't think the result would have been much different but likely less of a blowout. Just wanted to say thanks to the Rush coach for being so very understanding in this situation and refusing to allow her to play even though the refs and LHGCL staff did not have a problem with it.

Looks like Andromeda is playing really well lately. Wouldn't be surprised to see them at the top of the standings when the season is over.

The defeeters win was a surprise but I like their style of play and it looks like they are coming together.

Look like rest of predictions were right. Heard the Thompson/Dalglish game was very close and back and forth the whole game, with Thompson getting one in, and FWFC and Rush won as predicted.

Not surprised Rush's coach would act selfishly if LHGCL had ok'ed it....unreal.

LP Thompson appears to be the lead dog right now as they still have yet to lose. Certainly isn't pretty soccer but they keep winning and have a stout D.

Mustangs with a surprising loss, but they struggle to score and D'Feeters has been trending upward as well.

Andromeda has always been very good on D....it appears in the last couple tourneys and yesterday they have figured out how to score. If that continues look out.

It's gonna be a crazy race to the finish. Only 6 points separate 1st from 8th. That means that 2 pretty good teams are going to be back in qualifying. And it will be a dogfight for the top 2 spots for promotion to D2.

I'd say Thompson is pretty likely to be one of them...who knows about the other one.

I thought Andro would win, but did not expect to see such a solid victory. Based on the tournament last week, I could tell this team will be a force in the spring season.

Well done DFeeters. That was a great result and I will be curious to see where this team goes in the next few weeks.

If this division continues to stay the way it is, we will not know who avoids requalifying till the last week of the season.

If I am not mistaken, I believe only the champion of the division advances to D2. I think Andro is the team to beat. Thompson and Rush should be in the mix as well. It is really hard to say who will get those last two auto-qualifying spots.

Two teams go up from D3 to D2, only one goes from D2 to D1.

Actually, NTSoccerdad is correct on this one. From U12->U13, only the top team from D3 at U12 is promoted to D2 at U13.

This is due to D1 going from 10 teams at U12 down to 9 teams at U13.

Bottom 2 D1 teams drop to D2, top D2 goes to D1
Bottom 2 D2 teams drop to D3, top D3 goes to D2
Bottom 5 D3 teams have to requalify for 4 open spots in D3 at U13.

My mistake, that makes the race even more interesting!

Was it really a paperwork mistake that led to a player being unable to play?

I didn't know there were many rules that defer to the coaches.

outgoing mngr failed to submit sit out verification paperwork at the end od the fall season.

Not sure why, as the Mustangs tied the last place team 0-0 to end the fall season. It appears the Mustangs are struggling to score.
