Kicks was the top team before any kids left the Big 3. Ask chacon, tropher, and becca that. Don't try to diminish what JM does as a coach, which is develop skillful, complete soccer players.
May be why those players left.

My message has been my disagreement with fbr ranking system. I never targeted kicks, JM or anyone. We are at a happy place. I am not trying to switch. i was trying to buy liverpool uniform to donate to soccer assocoation, sent to south america with used soccer gear. And bo tries to bark like a bull dog. If Fbr needs to be published, you have to be honest and have integrity instead of calling #1, #2 , #5 teams based on a few wins with the same kids doing the work. The day we are able to see all these teams in the same Tment and show good results. Kicks has my vote. Signing off

Thank you for clarifying.. it's been about the FBR this whole time.  Man, I thought you created a new account to attack the integrity of one club.  I completely misread all 7 of your posts.  My apologies..

But I can appreciate your frustration.  I was quite puzzled last summer when I saw several random FCD players 'magically' appear on one squad that shot up on the FBR rankings soon after.  I'm sure you were equally agitated and expressed your concerns to your club being the stand up person you are.

Unfortunately I was unable to determine where they all came from, but I suppose the other 06 FCD coaches might be able to answer that one.

Snacks after academy games is the reason.

Creative fun, are you sure you don't already play for Kicks? Lol You seem to know a lot about our 06 player pool.   I'm not trying to hide anything. I do agree with you about FBR, nobody should look at it and think we have so many top teams.  Who cares who is on top at U8? My goal for the teams that I coach is to compete at the national level. This is reason I train a large player pool.

We began Kicks JM this season with 4 players to get the ball rolling. We just added a 5th player so we are halfway to  having a full roster. The North girls or Selecao girls you have seen on Kicks JM is to fill the roster. Once we have enough players you will see less of them. Kicks JM parents don't believe they are the 2nd best team, nor do they care they are ranked so high. The only thing important to them is that they get to train and play alongside very talented girls.

Kicks JM is looking for talented girls so they can develop into a top 2 team in NTX.  If anyone is interested in coming out please shoot me an email.

Honest advertisement . Who wouldn't want talented kids and build a 2nd ranked team? And confess, I don't care about rankings. Shrewd , smart DM only. I would never bring my DD near kicks programs built on dishonesty. And to answer ur question, one of your kicks 06 kids that came to train with my DD s team leaked kicks 06 philosophy of building second team. I just wanted to share with rest of honest soccer community.

Any program that can build two teams or three, means trouble others. I like the player pool, it gives you a chance to have the best and that is the whole point. That is what TSCH 06 girls are doing!!! And we have are haters too!! Cool

Post by banana kick 19/04/14, 03:25 am

I'm a little late to the party, but I read two separate issues being discussed here.  One is whether or not it's ethical or appropriate for a club to share players over multiple teams for the sake of development.  The case against young, developing players getting different looks and as many touches as possible seems a really hard one to make.  I'm not exactly sure about the question of honesty, but jm23jm seems to have clarified what his goals are and how he is proceeding into them.  Given his track record and unquestionable success with his 01's, I think it would be quite challenging to argue he's not a developer of both individuals and teams.

That being said -- and I believe Borussia is just a proud parent and excited member of Kicks nation, his intentions good and ethics completely intact -- the other question is should a Kicks parent publish rankings that see Kicks dominating the present rankings, with three of the top five spots spoken for, especially since the teams are as of yet not entirely distinct or settled?  The assumption that it's a recruiting ploy, while plausible, seems unlikely to me.  They don't seem to be struggling along that front, do they?  Would it make it better if Borussia's DD played on team ranked outside the top ten?  Or with a club that's presently less relevant in the age group?  Then, again, why care so much?

It's all in good fun, or should be.  Focus on the first point -- it is and should be only and always about development.  I'm pretty sure jm sees it this way.

You really can let the whole FBR thing go.  It's done and you won't be seeing it anymore.

Don't take your toys and go home!!! You do good work with this and you had to know going in that you would take some heat occasionally when you signed up. You are way too involved in the age group and too passionate to let a couple of snipes get off track. Keep Calm and FBR!

Now I get it... Bo is/has been scheming to make us beg for it... like the $10 crack/FBR whores we all are... and he's the only dealer in town... then we are beholden to him (in some way still working my way through his masterful devious plan)... perhaps his control of this nectar of life will be used to get the top players from those 4 non-kicks teams in the top 10 to switch to a kicks team... I think I'm on to him!  Very Happy

Post by FierceLightning 20/04/14, 09:34 am

As someone new to the Academy world in NTX with my U8 DD, this thread has been very interesting.

I initially looked at the FBR and thought it was a really good indicator of the top teams and thus the top coaching for this developing age group. And it was obvious that the Kicks program with the 06G's is special. I can also see that it can be a great recruiting tool for those top teams and Kick's especially. The thread did shed more light on the situation than I previously thought by just looking at the rankings. I initially thought that Kicks had a great pool of girls and were able to field 3 distinct special teams that were competing as one of the best clubs. But then I learned that in fact it is a smaller pool of girls and that they all play on all 3 teams. It does change my perception somewhat. Not in a negative way though. The CPP method is great and provides a lot of development for the girls and can only be positive. It just makes the FBR not as effective of a tool as I thought. But perhaps, if there is a lot of ringer play here with many teams, then it would be difficult to track who plays on multiple teams, etc. So I see the FBR as great and hope it continues, but it has to be looked at with a grain of salt.
