'04 Girls FBR Rankings - 05-05-2014
'04 Girls FBR Rankings - 05-05-2014
Current Rankings include game results from 01/18/14 through Present Date.
Weekly Disclaimer and Other Notes:
1) Liverpool '04 RASE is the de-facto #1 '04 girls team in NTX (unbeaten against any '04 NTX girls team for >1 year). They are not included in the FBR at this time due to a lack of games played against '04 girls opponents in the past 16 weeks

My prediction sure to go wrong is that there will be fewer than 52 teams. An $800 entry fee with no minimum game guarantee (it's entirely possible that a team could only get 2 games and be done), is a pretty strong deterrent for teams unless you are very confident that you will at least make it to week #2 of the QT. I would predict somewhere between 45-50 teams total.

This is not intended as a knock on DTS at all but a question for the "system" overall. If they're not consistently playing their age group shouldn't they be off the chart like RASE?

That team absolutely deserves their current rank. They haven't lost to anyone. Tied #5 twice, and when they have played teams ranked #10-#20, they are beating them by an average of 4+ goals. The fact that they aren't playing as often against other '04's as some of the other teams around them, likely has them 2-3 spots below where they truly belong. But then again, if you are quibbling over 2-3 spots in FBR, you really are missing the point.

Seems odd to be so high still. Not saying they don't deserve it but I am sure the calculations work somehow. BW is never wrong!
Interesting to think about where they really belong. They show 4TH place in TGPL with no losses and get this, not even a single goal scored on them. How can you get 4th place and not give up a single goal all season? Very funny if you think about it.
Does anyone know the results/times they last played the other top 5 (other than Sting of course)?

According to this:
http://home.gotsoccer.com/rankings/team.aspx?TeamID=441598&History=yes&compact=
they beat TX Spirit 5-3 on that last Game December 1.
Seems they have had a hard time scoring on girls but again according to that link they are scoring on the boys (and getting scored on as well).
Upcoming tournaments will be very interesting for sure.

That was the tournament final that went to PK's. 5-3 was the final score after the PK's. However, in FBR, I only count regulation scores, so it went into FBR as a 2-2 regulation draw.

Are goals scored in overtime considered pk's?bwgophers wrote:MustangGT wrote:bwgophers wrote:MustangGT wrote:

Doubtful that would happen today, but then again FBR is not a reflection of simply today, but history during a defined period of time.

There are a number of other teams in the top 30 that also have a relatively "low" number of games, ours being one of them, but not the same notoriety or as high up the list..oh, and not sure I would categorize it as a stroll vs those teams cited..lol

That Mustangs score sure seems like an aberration. Sheets, care to elaborate?
