02 League Challenge Cup results

Congratulations to Texas Spirit for winning the League Challenge Cup and to Shamrock United for playing in the heat into overtime with just 11 players (second game of the day for these girls playing with only 11).
Great competition and a close match.
Texas Spirit won 3-2 with one minute left in the second 5 minute overtime--thought PKs were going to happen!

Congrats to both teams. I heard that Shamrock United, with only 11 players, had one girl that broke her arm Saturday but still played in bubble wrap in both games on Sunday along with a couple of others with "assorted injuries"--no subs-- full 60 minutes for all. Sounds like a competitive and well conditioned bunch of soccer players.

Sounds like a great game. Makes you wonder what would have happened if SU had subs. In any event good playing by both teams.

Congrats to Texas Spirit for the win. Yes, it might have been a different game if Shamrocks had subs, but that didn't happen. Maybe next time. Until then, a good win and effort by Texas Spirit and a great effort and tournament for Shamrock United. The girls pushed themselves to get past injuries and heat exhaustion to get to the finals and put a heck of a fight. (bubble wrapped arm, hurt ankles, injured knees. etc) Texas Spirit cheered for everyone of our Shamrock girls while medals were handed out, like they were on the team. Congrats to both teams
