Everybody except for Sting Dallas knew that this team was going to be the top Sting team when they came over from Kicks.

Actually that isn't all true Tatonka...the Aztecs backed out at the final hour. This was the next top team.

Don't think Diaz was 2nd choice. More like 1st choice who turned it down and only after Aztecs pulled out, Brent went back to Diaz with a better deal. Will be interesting to see if that deal included keeping the team through select.

Just heard they made Diaz play Abbott again that doesn't make any sense

Diaz vs Aztecs was the game of the tournament but congratulations to Pulp. They played terrific.

Lady Aztecs – Solid team. Good skills. Missed to many goal opportunities. Will be tough competition throughout season.

Sting Diaz – Best all-around skilled team. Played very aggressive. Fun to watch. Have one or two top players. Will compete for top team.

Solar Abbott – Welcome to the big leagues. Played respectable for first time battling the big guns. Weak at goalie or games would have been closer.

Sting Parsons – Still work to be done to compete at this level. A couple of solid players. Maybe coach can convince players on bench from top Sting teams to switch.

Solar Pulp – Very strong team. Great skills with girls able to play all over the field without any disruption. Deserved to win.

Sting Scarfone –improving team but will be tough to compete and win against Top 10. Clearly far distance to Diaz with player talent.

Rush Voutier – Some solid players but no “team” spirit. Clear areas of weakness to compete for top spot but definitely top 10 team.

D’Feeters – Surprisingly not very impressive. Expected this team to be more competitive. Lots of work to do. Looked like took the summer off.

Respectable analysis, I think D'Feeters is a better team than you described and no, my dd does not play for them . We all need to remember these girls are young and ANY team can have an 'off' day or tournament.

Fair analysis --- but not sure what lack of "team" spirit on Rush Voutier means.  Voutier lost in the semi finals 1-0 (in overtime) to a very talented Lady Aztecs team.  That is nothing to hang your head over.  Watching all the teams this weekend makes me really appreciate how gifted these teams and individual players are.  Looking forward to watching them develop.

Agreed...expected more from D'Feeters. Thought they would be valid contender to win it all.

With Voutier...unusual amount of yelling at each other and I don't mean calling for the ball.....seemed like too much individualism

Would appear there is a clear top 2 with a sizable gap between the rest and perhaps even a couple more tiers within the top 10. When will new fbr come out?

D'feeters are in an interesting time.  With a transition of coaches over this year they looked a little disorganized and confused at times.  Lots of shots, but not many of them were quality.  Talented girls, but the tandem coaching may be a bad idea.  Maybe D'Feeters should let Colon keep building what he started.

Never saw infighting with RUSH.  Thought they played okay, just not ready for top 5 yet.  

Diaz is dynamic and fun to watch.  Funny how similar they are to Solar in development style and philosophy.  It's no coincidence that Diaz and Pulp have the top 2 teams.  Pulp just seems to have better talent from top to bottom, but only by a hair.  These are the top 2 teams right now.

BTW, top game was the RUSH/Scarfone. That game went into Pk's, which isn't unordinary. But the schedule was far behind and there were several hundred around the field watching. Heard it made for a great environment for the girls. Semifinals were pretty good being played side-by-side. Both going into overtime 0-0.

I got the privilege to watch quite a few games this weekend. A wonderful tournament and some Great teams playing in Gold. I agree with a lot of what's been posted, however I disagree on a couple as well.

Feet are a very solid team, however they don't move the ball around as well as the Top 5 or 6 teams. At the Top level in the 05 age group ball movement is critical. They will get there though.

Rush Voutier is a Great team. I believe they showed that this weekend. As for in fighting, I didn't see that. Seems like they are just a very competitive Group. That team has been together for several years and Gerard is a wonderful coach. No chemistry problems there.

Aztecs are very good and belong in the Top 5. They move the ball well and have great team speed. However, they tend to get exposed in their back line and keeper is big & Tall but has trouble with her ground Game. Great all around team.

I agree on Sting Parsons 100%.

Solar Abbott is good, but not ready to compete with the elite in the age group. Too many wholes up top and in the mid field. Keeper needs some work as well.

Sting Scarfone was the surprise of the tournament in my Opinion. Beating feet was big for them & playing pulp really tough and taking Rush to PK's was really solid. Sting Dallas has it going on right now.

Sting Diaz & Solar Pulp, I agree these two teams are very close in Talent and philosophy. Both Teams are the class of the age group and I think the Semi final they played was by far the game of the tournament. Came down to one defensive mistake on Diaz that decided the game in the second overtime. I want to take a second to recognize the Diaz GK. She was Fantastic in that game and made 6-7 game changing saves best 05 GK I've seen so far. With a bit of luck that game would have ended in PK's and maybe a different result. Great Game!!!!!!!

I also want to caution everybody on anointing Diaz or Pulp #1. Everyone seems to forget about LP Hypia. They played in a very talented boys group and did quite well. Also I don't think Pulp has got a victory over them ever and although Diaz has beat them before, they haven't in the last year. Hypia is still #1 until someone knocks them off. I do think we have a clear top 3 in Hypia, Pulp & Diaz. It's really close though. Hopefully after the fall season we will see who is still standing. Congrates to the 05 age group. Very talented and setting a very high standard.

D’Feeters - are solid but seem to have taken a step back. Agree lot of coach movement but they have added good talent from other top teams and should be progressing. I think we are all expecting more from them at this stage.

Rush – based on comments you are clearly DD parent. Great team but had to go into penalty kicks to beat Scarfone?? For chemistry, I saw a couple games and you must not have been there for all their games especially for Pulp game. I think they had 9 coaches on the field and one with just really bad attitude all together.

Aztecs –Seems other talent in league is catching up to their standout players. Hope to see more of them in year to come.

Solar A – agree and your comment on Feet applies here…”at top level need better ball movement” ….need to do better of feeding up from mid and across the front line.

Diaz Goalkeeper comment….you need to get out and see Hypia. By far best goalie in age group.

For Hypia, not sure why they chose to pass on this tournament when it clearly was the showcase of the top teams in 05. Was there some concern of disrupting their ranking? I guess this Friday will show a lot about where they are. Also, they played 1-0 against Solar Abbott first week. Sign of what to come of Hypia or strengthening of Abbott? To be seen I guess.

10-12 is way off base, there are alot of teams that will be competing for the 10-15 spot this season.

Why FCD premiere? Weren't they mid 20's in the last fbr from spring? They also were decent but lost to other teams not in your top 12 -- Sting Garrett too for that matter.

Agree about Sting Blue, they are not the same team and after seeing their coach throw a tantrum on the field I can see why...
