And while I'm at it I think I'll revise my battle of the Stings to 2-1 Cuevas
It's all good. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I don't begrudge you yours, I just don't think you have a sound basis for your 4-0 prediction. Thanks for the painful reminder of those previous scores though. Btw, were you at any of those games? Also let me ask, were those additions to replace subtraction(s)? At any rate, how it turns out is how it turns out and at least we won't be able to complain about any hired help this time.

I will make a general statement in response by saying that all of the teams from the top down are much more even than most of these predictions so far reflect. It's as if some haven't seen these teams play.
No love??? Has TSN ever beaten DT Scott? The consensus says that TSN will hang tough like they always do. I have yet to see a score where TSN has been blown out, but I also have never seen a score where TSN beat a top 5 team. A 2-0 or 2-1 TSN loss seems pretty accurate in my book.
Paulie my boy, what was your point in responding to me? To you I am grateful for predicting a 2-0 score. As to the rest of what you said in your response, I agree. But you aren't the only one to make a prediction. So I ask again, why did you feel the need to respond?
KNKS, my bad if you were sincere about feeling gratitude about the prediction. I thought you were being sarcastic and really wondering why no one was predicting a w for TSN and that is why people are responding. I hope you guys do pull off a win because I like how gritty your girls play every game.
Me, sarcastic? lol I must admit I was using sarcasm to make a point, but would have to agree that from the outside looking in a 2-0 or 2-1 loss would seem to be a pretty fair prediction.

I agree. All I kept hearing was that the "lower" qualifiers would be only playing the "higher" qualifiers for the whole first (fall) season which could lead to some ugliness for the first few months and possible team implosions. Does this early schedule reflect a departure from that or some reranking or what?

The first game hasn't even been played yet and you are already talking about team implosions and ugly soccer... speak for your own team, but at least let the season get under way for others!

Now this is something I would participate in
At the end of the day, who cares what others 'predict' about your team. The best way to influence team predictions isn't to complain about the predictions and 'lack of respect' but to have the girls work hard, improve, and show up every week to perform their best. If they do, and are a good team, the 'predictions' will follow.

Dallas Texans Dallas vs Texas Spirit North 3-0 DT Scott. DT continues to improve with their new players and they will be very difficult for Spirit to contain.
D’feeters Black vs Dallas Texans Red 3-1 Feet. Stark's team is coming along well and will make a lot of noise this year, but they could use a few more warm up games before taking on BlackFeet.
Liverpool Owen vs Mustangs 2-1 LP. This will be a good game. Giving the edge to LP.
Sting Donovan vs FC Dallas Premier 2-0 Sting. Because Magic 8 ball said so.
Odyssey vs Solar Chelsea 2-1 Odyssey. Maybe best match-up for the opening weekend. If Odyssey can find the net a couple of times, their defense will secure the victory.
Texas Spirit vs Dallas Kicks - 4-0 Spirit. Spirit will be too strong for the Kicks in the opener.
Liverpool Premier vs Liverpool Redknapp 3-1 LP Premier. Redknapp is too one-dimensional and Premier will shut that down.
Sting East Chacon vs Sting Central Cuevas 3-1 Chacon. Don't really know why...
Liverpool Elite vs Sting Guzman 6-0 Elite. Enough said. Everyone will get their shot in the coming weeks. Much better test for Elite next week!
Dallas Texans South vs Sting North Angell 3-1 DTS. South will be too strong unless Sting can find a way to shut down their forward.

While I think your score prediction is entirely reasonable I am curious as to the one dimension? I have seen/heard that they have had 5 or 6 girls find the net over the last several tourney's. Or is that dimension a stingy defense? Only gave up 3 or more goals a rare occasion lately. I'd go 2-1 on this one, based on D. Just curious.

Re: 04 Predictions for Week 1 LHGCL Division 1
I appreciate your curiosity Joe, but this is a simple "predictions" thread. No one should be offended (not saying you were) by another person's "prediction" nor should anyone have to justify why they chose this team over that team. It's all in fun. (or should be). It's like the NCAA tournament where a vast majority of people participate, everybody thinks they have some snippet of knowledge to give them an edge in making their predictions, but sadly in the end most of us realize we should have watched a game or two during the season. But for a brief time over the month of March we enjoyed the friendly banter with our friends and coworkers and that made losing your $10 all worthwhile.boilerjoe_96 wrote:soccernovice04 wrote:

So Joe you began with a good counter to my prediction, care to share the rest of them?

Ehh, I'll sit this one out, thanks though. I certainly wasn't offended, just had a general curiosity as to one dimension. It seems even though I watch a lot of college BBall(in between soccer practices/games of course), the lady in the office that picks on uniform colors or where her niece goes to school somehow does better than I do...so depressing.

Uniform colors and who has the coolest team mascot are always big players in my NCAA picks!boilerjoe_96 wrote:soccernovice04 wrote:

Field, please don't take this as my being defensive to your post, just to clear up any possible confusion you might have about "who" was doing the talking about those disgusting things. The "who" wasn't "me" as I stated "all I kept hearing".. My response to those who said this to me was one of disagreement, that I believed the outcomes would be much closer than many might think. At any rate, sorry if somehow you felt that those disgusting things might apply to your team.
