Can someone give the link to find current 04 rankings?

Gotsoccer? LHGCL standings? PPL standings?

The old FBR rankings are a thing of the past. Gotsoccer doesn't have enough data to be truly informative yet IMO.

I believe DT south is the 2nd rank team in the 04s. (is this good enough)

DT South relies on the long ball and speed. Not to mention their ability to hack and slash with no regard for safety. The girls even have a sweet way of talking back to the refs. I even heard an F bomb one time. Watch your backs when playing this squad.

let me sum it up:

Slashing is not a soccer term, as hockey sticks are not used.

If you did see what you thought was a slash, it was either (1) legal, (2) the girls are just "klutzy" at this age and it was most definitely not intentional, and/or (3) you are just a whiney rec parent and cannot appreciate true soccer skill when you see it.

I thought slashing referred to a kid who all of a sudden stopped playing soccer to do the riff on sweet child of mine. Glad you guys cleared that up.

There is always a fine line between aggressive and dirty play. Most parents have a lot of difficulty recognizing the difference as their vision or perception is blurred by their rooting interest and/or which side (the giving or receiving end) their kid is on.

The realization needs to set in that the refs will call the game the way that they want to call it. Some will let questionable play occur and others won't.

Those of us with older kids that play recognize that the physicality will increase as time passes. It's just part of the game that the kids (and parents) will need to get used to.

I agree.  Some teams are more aggressive than others.  Refs should be trained and experienced enough to know the difference and make the right calls.

LoyalSoccerMom: The "rankings" that people on this forum are/were referring to were during the pre-select/academy years. These were developed and kept by an individual forum member on a volunteer basis. This individual does not have an 04 daughter, by the way, he is just a crazy geek who likes doing rankings (I'm sure he won't read this) and probably lives under the bridge in downtown Dallas. Everyone (for the most part ha!) really enjoyed his rankings and it was great to be able to get a really good idea what "level" team your team was about to play against at the next tournament, and to argue about whether your team was ranked too low and the team your daughter used to play on was ranked too high. But, even though they were pretty accurate, they were not "officially" kept by any soccer organization. Now that select is here there is no longer a need for the FBR rankings. The teams will now just identify themselves as LH "D1", "D2" and PPL (Plano) D1, Arlington league, etc. The "rankings" would generally be just whatever the current team standing is in your team's respective league (LH, Plano/PPL, etc). I'm guessing at some point there will be enough scores in "Got Soccer" that there will be rankings there I guess....but not all leagues and tournaments use Got Soccer so it's not completely accurate. I don't have an older soccer player so I don't know about that as the kids get older.
