Any thoughts on yesterdays games PPL

I wasn't able to make it out to the games yesterday. Any thoughts or comments? How'd the predictions go ?

Yeah, it's obvious that Plano made a mistake in not granting the relegated LHGCL teams D1 byes. LP Owen won big and from what I got to see to see of the LP Dalglish game, it should have been way worse than the score showed. Just a shame this wasn't done before the mid season break because D1 could have been really competitive.

Scores currently are in favor of the LP teams, but sometimes politics gets in the way. So far they are off to a great start and if they both continue should find themselves in D1 where they should have been placed.

LP Owen making it to PYSA's PLDT Semi's last weekend and Dalglish winning their Finals -- definitely sent a "you got it wrong" message to their Board. And then continued this past weekend. Hopefully the girls stay motivated and get in.

I agree with SoccerDad. My question is, why would ANYONE think that a team who finished in last place in the spring winning only 1 game is a better fit for PPL 1 than a team who played LH? Makes no sense. It also does not make for good soccer in PPL 1 and 2.

The reality of girls soccer in this area is that even though these two leagues are not associated directly with each other they probably should be. I guess I can understand why they want to stand alone but they end up being the lower level league. I am not saying that PPL is no good, My oldest has played in both as well as my youngest and they are both there this season as well. I guess one could argue that it isn't fair to the teams that competed in PPL last season and earned their spot to be bumped by a team coming from an entirely different league but if they aren't then we end up with the situation at hand. I've always felt that my girls got better playing against better teams than their own so hopefully the girls will benefit !!

Wow!  One weekend of competition and you all have it figured out that PPL got it wrong.   Makes me wonder if you ever watched 12yr old girls soccer.

By the way, raise your hand if you actually saw the Owen/LP Scott game.

Let's see how it plays out over the next few weeks and then you can make your bold proclamations about how PPL kind of messed it up.

Yeah- 12 yr old girls soccer!!

I won't comment on the end of the game (4 goals came in last 7 min), but it was a 0-0 game at half, about 50/50 with both sides having about 3 good scoring chances.   Owen scored just before the 2nd Half Water Break to go up 1-0 with 15 min left.


LP Scott doesnt catch much break- Dalglish next!    But hey, no complaints!

Oh, and to be sure, the better team that day won.  But save for the last few minutes, I don't think anyone who stumbled by that game and watched those teams play would've thought one team was clearly better than the other or that one should be in a different division.

Perhaps you can get a perspective from an Owen parent- maybe I'm being biased unawares.

Oh yeah, forgot to add that LP Scott scored two goals called back on off-sides. Tough thing for Scott, the off-sides wasn't even necessary to the success of the play- both goals probably would have occurred had the Scott player just been a little more aware- just a situation where slightly misaligned- but good calls by ref.
