Same story different day teams lose and parents cry
purplefrog wrote:El Clasico, hopefully you are a Feet parent, otherwise that's extremely creepy that you happend to watch a 10-year old soccer game at 8:00 am. So, assuming you are a feet parent...your perception of the game is biased. I know peeps close with both teams, and both said it was a close game...so quit trying to stir up trouble
The SRFC game wasn't even close; either they didn't show up or couldn't put it together. As for the two players welcome to a bigger club, when you have two starters out in boots and have the depth you pull. This isn't rec no one is guaranteed playtime so for those parents that can't handle their daughters lost and felt the need to post welcome to Select, sour grapes and hope you liked it because unless you are going back to rec it isn't stopping.

Whoa there big boy... That's some crazy mud your slingin' there. No chance??? They are virtually tied in the standings.
And to another poster's point, the girls don't know the other team's roster. If they thought there was "cheating" going on it is ONLY because their coach or parent told them. Which is of course total BS because cheating means breaking the rules when we all know no rules were broken at all.
I was not at the game, so I can't comment on any play. I would like to see these 2 teams play again with no CPP, but I don't expext the result would be much different.

Re: Lake Highlands D3 Week 9 Predictions
I gave the girls kudos on a great win and a great game - this isn't about the kids though. When the parents act up it's about the parents and ONLY the parents . And if you didn't hear it then maybe you weren't close enough or weren't paying attention - doesn't mean it didn't happen. The funniest part is, I guess both teams were filming at the time so there's more than one video of the incident. One of the TX Spirit parents had apparently given that parent a piece of their mind defending that they are ten year-olds and no one should EVER talk to kids that way, on or off the field. So not sure where you were sitting that you didn't get to enjoy the commotion fully.GoalsScored wrote:I watched my DD from the sidelines play against GSSC today. I did not hear any GSSC parent call our girls a "punk". There was a warning from the referee given for excessive noise from GSSC parents. In my opinion, there was too much coaching from the sidelines, but I have been guilty of that a time or two in the past.
I am not a sore loser and I do not believe that we should teach our DDs to be sore losers either. My DD's reason for not winning the game was, "The defender kept getting in my way and that keeper stops everything." The lesson she took away from the game today is that 2 GSSC players leveled the playing field against 3 CPP. I hope that as parents we learn good sportsmanship from our DDs and are able to congratulate the victor.
GSSC played well today. The girls were determined and confident. They showed themselves to be the winning team. Let's not dampen their victory with accusations that are not "comment" worthy.
We will play each other again. I know that both teams will be prepared and ready to go to battle with or without CPP.
I give FULL props to the kids of GSSC for playing a great game and winning despite CPP - congrats to them and congrats to TX Spirit Red for giving them a game and making it competitive, however, I DO NOT AND WILL NOT condone parental behavior of that sort ever and that, I believe, is definitely "comment" worthy...

Never heard of a warning for "excessive noise".
What did he say? "you are too noisy"?

One CPP switched out with a regular forward, and was not on the field at all for the 3rd goal, so that is quite a wonder that she was involved in the scoring play.
There were many other opportunities to score when she was on the bench - including one of the one v. one's with your goalie 1/2 way through the second, where the D'Feet player shot it wide left and your obnoxious dad yelled "in your face" to the player.
Real nice.
And unless the coach yells like a girl - he was the one screaming "cheaters" at the end of the game.
I didn't see anyone whining.
I (and others) did, however, contest tigerdad's "facts" - which were patently wrong.
oddly, didn't see him show back up.

This here forum was not built on reality sir... please refrain from utilizing reality as a basis for argument...adufresne wrote:Wait.....so you're saying that D'Feeters White used guest players in order to get a winning result against the mighty SRFC who they've played multiple times before with their full roster and the largest margin of defeat in said games being 1 or 2 goals with players that SRFC no longer has and that had Feet not used guess players they would have had no chance at all to win or tie as they have done in the past? And also because Feet used guest players to fill positions for injured players, they shouldn't "whine when someone says the girls are not good enough to beat SRFC straight up." Definitely sounds rational to me. Are you for real?

Unlike you all, maybe Tigerdad has a life outside of 10-year old soccer and either (1) hasn't been back on here, or (2) doesn't care enough about what y'all say on a little soccer forum for him to feel the need to reply....
....wait....now I'm on here replying....crap....I don't have a life either
Seriously, at the end of the day, its 10-year old soccer. Parents emotions get the best of them sometimes (myself included), but if in the big scheme of things, what does it really matter if a team wins/loses for whatever reason. Everyone should just shut up and let it go sometimes. We are lucky to have such great daughters that let us crazy parents have something to do on the weekends.

We're too busy over in D1 with our calculators and abacus calculating our current points and potential points to determine if we can hold our spots for next year.
