Out of 6 teams in the Gold Division, 4 were undefeated - wins or ties, no defeats...  that's some pretty closely matched teams...  Congrats to Lady Aztecs who went out with three ties and TX Spirit Red that went out with one win and two ties - although both teams were undefeated, at the end of the day, it comes down to those points.  Solar Chelsea and TX Spirit North definitely accumulated the points - both D1 teams in the finals.  Would like to say that was the expectation all along but based on a couple ties with DIII teams it appears they were more closely matched than expected...  great weekend of soccer and great games by all teams that were involved...  What a Face

Not sure if you were trying to tout the strength of the D3 teams or the lack thereof of the D1 teams. It is interesting that the team that won it had the lowest GotSoccer ranking by far (#71) in the division and used no guest players.

First, we all know GotSoccer rankings mean diddly right now...  those rankings are going to ebb and flow greatly over the next few years.  Second, I was just stating that many times when you get a Gold division comprised of teams from DI down to DIII or further the expectation is blowout wins by the DI teams.  There were non of those this past weekend.  And who was using guess players as that little slight would assume someone was.  I don't think any of the Spirit teams used guess players as most of the Spirit teams were all playing in this tournament.  Maybe Lady Aztecs?  Curious who had guests this weekend...

Anyway, I wasn't looking to start a debate about strength of play or GotSoccer rankings - I was merely stating that the tournament was a good one, that there were no true blow-outs, and that the teams seemed to be right on as far as talent.  Just goes to show that you never really know what you're going to get from ten year olds playing soccer...  sometimes you think they're ready to play on the USWNT and other times you think they should go back and play in Bubba Tom's Rec league.  Just this weekend all teams came to play and it made for some really good matches by those top 4 teams with no losses.  Even the PPL teams put up a fight against all teams.

I apologize, D'Feeters Munoz was in the Arlington League - so really there was only one PPL team and one APL team...

I basically agree with you and wasn't trying to start any mess, more just trying to take a shot at the GotSoccer rankings, although there's been some recent adjustments, so I guess I may have jumped the gun a bit. I will add though, that as some of us would contend, final score isn't always an accurate reflection of how the game was played but then again that may be just those of us looking for a moral victory. Smile
