FBR 07 Girls November 10th

Current Rankings ONLY include game results from 08/01/2014 through Present Date.

Only games against 07s will count for rankings. Teams playing in leagues that do not publicly report scores will need to email FBR07G@mail.com to report their scores for consideration.

The fall season is now complete and all data from league play is entered.  With the upcoming tournaments and cross play expect some movement in the rankings and tiers.

RASE will be playing for a cause this weekend in the upcoming tournament. There's something more important than winning - join us if you agree.

For every game the team completes 50+ passes (2x to GK), donations will be made to the American Cancer Society in the name of good will and soccer development. And yes, at the expense of the rankings and score sheet!

This sounds like a great effort, but I'm puzzled by why you chose to put this on the FBR thread.

I agree. Maybe a better thread next time. I don't know what your motivation was to put it on this one...

I think the reason why it is here is pretty clear given the context of the post. Not sure why a comment on sacrificing FBR ranking (or scores) for 7 year olds is even necessary

But hey whatever...... at least money is going to a great cause and I applaud the team for that. I hope they meet their goal every game. Good luck

There was the 04 team, then we don't see it used again until the 07 team? Why no 05,06 RASE?

"Each player can execute every skill and technique and have been for over a year - scissors, step overs, zico's, l-turns, bring downs (juggle in the air to trap), etc., and can one-touch and two-touch pass without hesitation at varying distances.

They are assigned homework at the beginning of each month and at the end of each practice.

Players on both teams already understand each position and their role.

They are all taught to do the right things by how and when to pass, how and when to beat a player, and are not permitted to aimlessly play kick ball, use their toe, or do anything else that is detrimental to their development just for the sake of a win or goal."

Seriously though the 07 RASE girls are a very talented group. And I hope they are able to donate a lot of money to the fight against cancer this weekend.

We will be doing this for every tournament and league game we play for some time to come. This weekend is the beginning.

I am all for raising money for a great cause, but I just don't understand how 50+ passes in a game equals development

Well, being that the foundation of LP training is passing and moving, it's a little disappointing that you can't understand the connection.

Does dribbling, 1v1's, shooting, any skills, etc ever come into play? Or is it all passing and moving in the training?

Of course it does. Once this challenge has been completed, a new goal will be set. Number of 1v1 wins, tackles won, shots or goals scored, etc., are all examples of possible future achievements to fulfill to help reach donation goals.

So, to be clear. Your teams no longer are concerned with any Ws or Ls. Their focus is accomplishing in practice what is taught to also raise money for the worthy cause.
