Ah ok I guess that's not as bad :-/ It's tough being a coach, it takes a lot of heart and commitment and for men to get on here just to bash other teams or coaching styles seems cowardly. I guess everyone is different though.

Hey monisoccer03, I'm curious what happened to the 07 team that is causing players to leave. I mean they were one excellent team that was really starting to click. They were giving 06 teams a real hard time like the 08s are doing now in the 07 division. I really enjoyed seeing them in tournaments.

Is this your first trip through academy? Players come and go all the time, for a variety of reasons. Sadly most of the time it is the parents egos that get in the way. Some leave because they can't deal with the fact they their DD isn't the superstar and played in a certain positon. Some leave because no matter how much you try and help them they can't pay their soccer dues, some parents can get talked into a bad situition by another disgruntled parent, some parents do not like their DD playing against boys, and some leave because they don't even like soccer and the only reason they are there is because their parents are too self centered to realize it. I have seen all of these play out through the three trips that I have taken through academy soccer and I am sure I will see many more as I began to embark on the fourth journey. p.s. Stop making this weird and showing up to watch my 8 year old play soccer at random tournaments. I will get a restraining order.

I may be relatively new to the forum but this isn't my first foray through the academy or competitive ranks. I have been involved in ntx soccer for over 15 years. Whether it be coaching, training or running leagues. I was simply making an observation since this "trip" through has been very different than others. I enjoy watching teams compete against each other to better help pick up on anything that could possibly help me develop the teams i coach. I look forward to seeing my teams compete against some of the more seasoned teams in this age group.

That's awesome. Well with that many years in soccer you of all people should know that there are several factors that play when a family makes a commitment, such as practice location, leagues, fees, work schedule, etc. This core has been together since the team formed and they are still very much an excellent bunch (probably why they get so much attention ;-) ) and no worries, they still have plenty of fans.

Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of the work your group has done and look forward to the continued success you guys are having. I have had much success working with JM in the past and look forward to competing with Richie and other teams in the future.

SoccerGuru- will your team be playing at CFBAL/UAL in the spring? It would be a great opportunity for your team to play some great competition!

And the comment about Sting being free if you beg- let me know who to beg! My DD has played for Sting for 3 years and I've has always had to pay! I must have missed the free memo!

I'm coaching a first season team so no we will only be playing ASA for the spring. I hope to move them over by the fall but we will see how it plays out.
