That woman yelled at me. Then she busted a bottle and came after me. Shots were fired in the parking lot.

yellowcard5 wrote:Ron White once said "you can't fix stupid."

There absolutely is an acceptable standard of behavior on the sidelines but just like laws that are set in our society, there will always be those that just don't think they apply to them.

You are free to use any incident you wish to teach your children valuable life lessons...and I agree that this was probably a good teaching moment.

In the end, it isn't our job to try and manage other teams parents behavior. The only way their behavior is going to change is when someone within their own group has the balls to stand up and tell them it is unacceptable.  In most situations I would think this would be the coach, but obviously he doesn't take much issue with it since its been going on for years now.  It is a black eye for their team and in the end all these parents do is take the shine away from their own girls that are a pretty good team.

There are always going to be people like this and contrary to popular belief not everyone can be fixed, nor do many of them want to be.  Your approach is the correct one in using it to teach your own kids and that is the value that comes out of it.  Our kids are going to have to face people like this throughout their entire lives and the sooner they can learn to ignore them the better off they will be in the end.
Thread should have been closed after this post.... cheers

Although the south side video was funny!!

I do have a problem with the way the DTS parents acted on Friday (and Sun as well, from what has been shared).  While I can voice my concern and use it (as I have) to teach my DD about the behaviors that lead to success (and those that don't) in life, I will always voice my concerns when adults start acting like children in front of children.  No value ever comes from this...ever...for anyone.  I would hope that those parents on DTS who do not act this way would help this parent / these parents understand that this behavior is not appropriate ever.

You should voice your concerns.  My point is that voicing them on a soccer forum is not going to yield the results that can make a difference.  Take the appropriate action and call NTX Soccer, Dallas Texans, Tournament Director, etc and let them know what happened.  These organizations do not take kindly to this type of behavior because it hurts their brand.  You have to go through the process, but in the end if one moron can be removed from the sidelines we are all better off.

You don't think that page after page of being called out hurts their brand?
Sometimes keeping it "in house" just sweeps it under the rug.

LMAO now thats a good one. Haven't hear anything that funny in awhile. Exactly what brand is it hurting? The DTS brand? Many people have thought poorly of DTS before there was even a 04 team. The Texan brand? As long as they are "texans" and have DA/ECNL and keep winning there will be plenty of parents lined up with open checkbooks

Yeah...I think some people think this forum carries more weight than it does...
I think most of the top teams carry a stereotype of some  sort...
Maybe texas spirit is a team That I haven't heard any of.
But as far as brand goes and tarnishing it...that's a good statement with low validity.
Parents of all sorts stay away or avoid teams for a wide variety of reasons.

There was a claim that Elite parents were snobs and girls were mean. "Arrogant atmosphere."

The boards crucified a one JK a few months back for an incident he was involved in. "How could you let a guy like that coach your kid?"

Dts...rowdy parents. " their parents are bad examples for sportsmanship and life" whatever....

LP premier...a baby Elite. "I would hate to be LW sloppy seconds"

DTScott fell under the Dallas Texans money umbrella " Texans are money hungry and care nothing about the kids"

And That's your top 6 who are still holding it down...

I've heard parents give their spill about each of those teams so props to TX Spirit...the only winning team to fly under the radar. The rest of us...that's the price we pay for winning.

I wouldn't say spirit flew under the radar. They flew without expectation. And they get left out of the conversation with the big kids. They were kind of the early season atlanta hawks. For all of the other teams you are terrible, horrible people and you kids are worse. Consider your brands tarnished

Never Judge without Knowing the Whole Story...

This is something we all should have learned growing up and we should be teaching our DD's. No excuses for anyone's actions however if you are across the field and only going off your own opinion on what you saw from the other side of the field it is hard to understand on how you know the whole story. I guess some people wanted to be writers or wanted to sound important or just deflect the attention from their own issues or unexciting DD's team.

For LW....I wonder if he feels like Tony Dungy did when he built up Tampa Bay and had to leave is team (by whatever means) and the next year Jon Gruden wins the SB with Tony's squad...AF being Jon Gruden.

Elite feeling like "look maaaa, top'uh da world!!"

And we feeling like "we jus here so we won't get fined..."

Honestly...I thought all moms were crazy....behind their children and husband...oh and Beyoncé.

I can dig it.
Guess that's why I can't understand what all the fuss is about. Odyssey parents want to play paparazzi then want to play victim when "the Kanye" come out lol...

I know all the story I need to know to get a good laugh out of "grown ups" thinking an '04 girls soccer game is important enough to go that overboard on the sidelines. Of course, we have all had our "not so great" moments on the sidelines of our little DDs games at some point. Still just soccer and the vast majority will not sniff a college field. So, remember to try to keep it fun. If not, what is the point?

I saw the video an it is very clear. There are no two sides. It clearly shows she was armed with what looked like a steaksauce bottle but was quickly disarmed by JK. The situation was under control until LW threw one of his kicking kittens at her. Thats when S#!t got real. But finally what appeared to be Randy Orton came out of nowhere and caught her in a RKO. That is exactly what happened. I will try to post the video but the encryption is tough and my Portuguese is a little rusty

no one was upset about the loss....that's where you get it twisted...

No one cried foul...we didn't get robbed by refs.
Someone said something out of line and it wasn't very kind so neither was the response but... Since someone had to be painted sole villain why not pin it on the usual suspects...
We take it in stride though.
So on behalf of DTS...we apologize..to the kids and Christian parents who had to witness such on our behalfs.
But to the instigators and glass house rock throwers and hypocrites...touché snitches!!

Moderator close thread please...
