SoccaPeeps wanna try guessing the winner of the final? I bet you'll at least get the LIVERPOOL part right.

This has been a tumultuous first year of select and at this rate...this summer will be upside down!! Player changes, coach changes, coach moves, lunches, brunches, interviews by the pool, considered a fool cause I dropped outta high Skool...my bad, that was on the radio...

He gets a little touchy if anyone dare bet against his team even though it's just someone else's OPINION. He seems to be holding on to the dream that his team will stay in D1 next season. I don't see that happening. Just my OPINION! I thought Sting West had a great chance at making the playoffs as well. Just my OPINION! I guess the two teams will have more opportunities to play each other in D2 next season.HeadHaunter wrote:Sorry, you have me confused on a bunch of things... the 2-0 was just a bracket score, not matching DI and DIII teams just that the smallest gap in that bracket was a 2-0 score which had nothing to do with what division they play in. In the other bracket the 2-0 was highest gap, nothing more, nothing less, just numbers - nothing to do with the divisional play of any team which, once again, has very little relevance. It's based on pure competitiveness of the bracket - period. I only point out the 2-0 differential as it was between two DIII teams otherwise the differential was much larger for that bracket (yup, you guessed it 3-0). Man you make a simple statement way more complex than it needs to be - are you planning on asking me to place your bets in the future or something? I think the fact that I grabbed a couple DIII teams to win a couple brackets would be seen as "haha funny funny" since I'm quite sure the masses on this board knew exactly who was going to win 1st and 2nd place in each bracket (ummmm, wait, lemme guess - all DI teams?). No one had any REAL preconceived notions that a DIII team might actually sneak into the playoffs accept maybe the DIII parents of a couple of those teams. So you got me, you called me out, I didn't pick TXSN to make the playoffs, but then again I think I DID pick two other TX Spirit teams to make it so I gave Texas Spirit some love. One did, one didn't and one got eliminated in the quarters so I'm glad I didn't put my money on the Red square.KnKsDad wrote:Head - no, I wasn't trying to pick a fight initially. Your Bracket C prediction had Sting W. going to the quarters, which is what I was meaning by your poor prediction. My mistake is that I got you confused with someone else on here who knows my TSN affiliation, which is why I threw that little jab - my bad for that mix up. Having said that, I am curious why you would have made that pick because anyone could have made your other playoff predictions based strictly on the numbers, however in that case you did deviate from the numbers by a good bit, so I am not sure what numbers you are seeing online in that regard. Furthermore, the closest D1/DIII point gap in Bracket C was 3-0 on the scoreboard, so I thought you were incorrectly using 2-0, otherwise what would be the relevance of using that 2-0 score in a DI/DIII comparison when it came in a game between two DIII teams? Again not sure what numbers you are seeing online in that regard. I must be misunderstanding what you were trying to say there.
If you want to make a statement and offer an "OPINION," then offer your prognostication of who will be D1 in 2015/16. Your "OPINION" is pointless if you are primarily looking to insult one team. Besides, I think you are wrong.
Here are my observations after watching a number of the tournaments that my DD played in over break.
Top Six are still clear cut: Elite, Premier, Feet Black, DT South, Spirit and DT Scott (despite the recent clunky showings)
Nine teams are competing for the final four in D1 based on standings, strength of schedule and recent showing. I think five have proven over the break and late Fall that they are starting to separate (the big “MO” matters…momentum). Those five are Sting Chacon, Odyssey, Sting Gutierrez, TSN and DT Red. Sting Hilton, Owen, FC Dallas and Solar wont be able to hang unless they turn things up significantly. Count them out.
From the games I saw, Sting Gutierrez was one of the more consistently impressive teams; physical, fast and very good skills. Odyssey is borderline but has enough points to drop a few and still squeak into the top ten, DT Red has a favorable schedule and is very talented, TSN improved noticeably from the last time we saw them, but they still have the shortest roster. TSN will fight with Odyssey and Chacon for the 9 and 10 spots.
Ultimately, Chacon's schedule is too tough. I can't see them winning more than 2 games in second half.

I think I have a proven track record of not being very good at this, but give me Elite 2-1 to win it. Anyone else have an opinion on today's game?
btw..I purposely picked Elite to jinx them

Re: 2015 LHGCL Spring Roundup Predictions
If Premier wins...and no disrespect to them...but I don't think anything would make sense anymore and that LHGCL Spring Round Up was a cursed tourney orchestrated and conjured up by one of Skeletors evil spells or we've been cast into a parallel dimension by Mumrah the Everliving but either way I'd lose it...
Besides...we need Premier to save their Elite anti-venom for league.

Re: 2015 LHGCL Spring Roundup Predictions
1.) LP Elite - Still the team to beat. Have won two consecutive tournaments. Can they make it three in a row.
2.) DT South - Their 16 months streak (according to them) was ended by Elite. Will wear you down with athleticism yet no team below has beaten them.
3.) LP Premier - Moved up a notch with win over D’Feet. Still missing key pieces to help with scoring. Could they pull off the upset against Elite??
4.) D’Feet Black - Seems LP Premier has their number as of lately. No Grey/Gray (whichever) team mixture could have been the culprit for the loss??
5.) DT Scott - Notch down for losing to ‘05s but played well in LH Roundup. Shame they didn’t compete in Semi. Represented NTX 04s well in Vegas.
6). TX Spirit - Can’t get D’Feet Black off their backs. Still a good team overall. Gave NTX ‘04s a black eye in Vegas going in as the #4 ranked team on Gotsoccer.
7.) LP Owen - Saw improvements since last I saw them play. Second half of LH will make or break them.. Either they're contenders or pretenders.
8 - 10. - Having a hard time finding teams to round up the top 10. Can someone please step out the pack!!

You basically nailed it and yes the 16 month streak holds...held true regardless to what "they" told you
I'm a little shaky on 3-5... They can kind of rotate because Scott has had Feeters # for a bit and premier but I don't know...just can't grasp the forfeit concept to hold Scott up high...

This may hold true against NTX '04 teams but not overall.. I believe DT South lost last May to some Kansas team 3-1. Do you recall?

But of course I may be biased but an argument can be made either way. Dig it!!??
Kinda along the lines of the old "de-facto" arguments....

Re: 2015 LHGCL Spring Roundup Predictions
Owen will have an incredibly difficult season having to play the big 6, but only one win should get them in. They sit at 23 points now and 26 has never failed to at least grab the 10th spot the past 5 years since starting the U11 supergroup format.
Assuming they lose to all 6 top teams (who knows what happens? They may catch one of the top teams on an off day), they have to win 1 against Hilton, TSN, or DTR. The big challenge for their coach will be keeping motivation up if they lose several games in a row.

Just to clarify:
Kansas was small sided game on a tiny field and not all of DTS players made the trip.
So for 11v11 against 04 girls regardless of location the 16 month streak is true.
Against 04 boys, 03s, or 5v5 and 8v8 not true.
