FBR06G 06-25-2015
-FBR is presented in W/L/T instead of W/T/L.
--Only teams with 3 games or more played and scores posted during the FBR time period are included in the ranking.
-If your favorite team has changed for better or worse in the rankings most likely it is due to quality of games dropped vs quality of games added since the last posted FBR
-Overtime scores and PK results are not included for tournament games that go into Overtime or PK, the tie is entered into FBR

Re: FBR06G 06-25-2015
If your team has changed names/clubs let me know so I can adjust the name in FBR.
Also if your team has already decided what leagues and levels they are playing for the Fall if you can let me know that as well so I can begin changing that in the FBR as well by the team name.

No FBR update? Guess those two losses weren't beneficial.

Re: FBR06G 06-25-2015
Having said that, I do think Blues Fan brings up a valid point. If a summer FBR is pointless due to player movement, why post 3 in June.. which saw very little movement, only to stop in July when there is a potential shake up for 1 or more teams? If that is the case, I see no reason not to post it.
BwGophers, I'll go out on a limb and assume FBR06 is referring to you as the FBR King.. can you elaborate? I'm sure quite a few are scratching their heads on this one.

Re: FBR06G 06-25-2015
For the age groups still in academy (i.e. U9's going to U10 or U8's going to U9), I typically posted FBR up through the June tournaments that "ended" the Spring season. Then I would take a break from posting until around Labor Day.
From late June - early August, you have a lot of "open" weeks, or weeks with only a very few games played that don't really add much to the rankings. You also tend to be deleting a lot more games then you are adding at this time, so team movement is even less likely to follow the most recent results (which always gets people up in arms). Also, you get a lot of player/team/coach/club shuffling during the off-season, and it's not 100% clear which teams are actually still teams until everyone registers for the fall leagues and the league schedules are posted.
I always felt it was best to let things settle out, make all of the necessary changes in one fell swoop (i.e. rip the band-aid off quickly and let everyone get over the shock of the changes and move on), and post fresh around the start of the new league season.
That is what I suggested to FBR06 this week.
U10's going into U11 are a completely different story because of the QT. Just about every team playing in the LHGCL QT plays either King TuT or Puma Cup, and one of the main purposes I started FBR and carried it on for so long, was to see if I could come up with a system that would reliably predict which teams would qualify for LHGCL at U11, so I absolutely have to publish a final FBR in July, the week before QT starts.
p.s. I always treated the Dec/Jan off-season between Fall and Spring the same way. I typically posted my last fall FBR around the 1st week of December, and then didn't post another until around the 2nd week of Feb. once Spring league play started.

Also, SuperCopa was brand new to 2015. Did you exclude the games that didn't involve local teams? It seems like those games would provide useful data.

Heard Pulp is done with Academy and only on the Select side now.... What happens to all those players...
Thats alot of players for a 9v9 roster.

Yes, if I am aware that a tournament bracket game was decided in OT or PK's, I will include the result in FBR as a draw.

I treated SuperCopa the same way I would treat an out-of-town tournament and would only include games that were between teams already in the FBR database. When the majority of the teams in the tournament aren't in the FBR database to begin with, it becomes too difficult to get an accurate SoS assessment for the non-NTX teams. This is the same reasoning behind why I don't generally include games when teams play up in older age brackets, in the FBR ranking for the younger age bracket. (i.e. when '06's play up in an '05 tournament bracket, those results generally shouldn't be used for '06 rankings).

Re: FBR06G 06-25-2015
I have a question for both of you. When do you adjust the tiers to each team (Monthly, Weekly, Season.....)? I know that it is the human element to this and it makes since that you would need it.
FBR06,
What is the current tiers in 06?
Thanks again and I look forward to the response.

Re: FBR06G 06-25-2015
In tournaments the end of the game score is entered. Not OT or PKs. I follow the precedent that Gophers set with all those decisions.
Once AUGUST is done I will look at the tiers again. And I don't mind sharing those again once that happens!

I only posted local teams vs local teams for Supercopa. If you look back at that FBR you will see where I posted how that was treated. I followed the lead from Gophers on that as well. I am not trying to change the structure he created because he has done this since the 01s and he is still alive so I figure that will help me stay alive too!!! It would be really hard to tier out of town teams especially that many. Gophers treated Supercopa like he would an out of town tournament so I did as well. That being said those going to Surf Cup if you play each other I will add those results.

Yes I adjust them a bit every week. Not much has changed though since I recently posted them. But when I post the next FBR I surely don't mind posting that again. And I wouldn't even mind posting today however I am out of town for a week and didn't take my computer with me:)

Is it possible to just put them next to where they are playing and leave it there all the time? Ex. (UAL Plat / Tier I)
Just trying to think of a way to simplify the process. Thanks for responding while you are on the road!

So to you Kicks Selecao for example would be in the same tier as say TX Spirit Monk... just because they both signed up for Platinum at UAL? and what about say Sting west texas that signs up for Primetime Platinum... UAL and Primetime platinum the same level of competition?

No I will just post the tiers seperately. When moving teams tiers around that would be difficult to keep changing the name as well. Too time consuming.

I think he was just suggesting I add the current tier next to all that info. Wouldn't mean they would be in same tier based on league. So you could see tiers with everything else. But that would be an extreme amount of work to do each time. It is easier for me to post the tiers seperately from time to time.
