Rumor says our club will realign start January, I guess many clubs/teams would do the same to benefit their (1). Recruit (2). Prepare for Fall.

Re: calendar year age change
Keep in mind a select soccer contract prohibits them from practicing or plaing with another soccer team, but would that include an academy team.... that is the question.
if an 06 opts to stay age pure and repeat the final year of academy... they could then easily "guest play" on select aged teams for tournaments and i would imagine league play... just like CPP, but easier.

You think the forum gets it's collective panties in a bunch now when it comes to CPP and FBR, let's see this scenario play out.AtThePitch wrote:Something that needs to be hammered out... if an 06 opts to play up, signs a select soccer contract... are they still a free agent in academy soccer?

It seems that if they choose to play up and sign a NTSSA contract, then they would be bound by the contract and the NTX rules - just like any other player at the competitive level. Seems like they would have an option, but wouldn't get it both ways.

Dom w PrimeTime can correct me if I am wrong. But this season his SATURDAY select league allows 06 players to play there. His league isn't a NT run league. So if that is the case I am assuming a select player who meets appropriate birth year requirements for his league next year could play in that league despite how they play in LH or any other NT run league.

Re: calendar year age change
We are likely to go Jan-Dec when everyone else does. As we understand the mandate, though, it will not be required until Fall 2017.
Maybe it is time for a summit of all of the academy and competitive league directors in the metroplex.

AtThePitch wrote:The issue is the contract... not the age... show me a player under contract that shows up to play for another squad... can't even play rec and select at the same time.
Rec is NT
I doubt clubs will let their players play for another clubs team in their contract but if the club I sign with allows her to play with their own academy team club I will.

Re: calendar year age change
Does it affect all Age groups, not just 06,07,08? Meaning girls that are already select say 02/03's, ect?
Why has NTXSoccer not released anything yet?
thx
