Re: FBR06G 10-07-2015
Also, how does a 4 Loss and 4 Tie team (Kicks JM)....AND a 5 Loss & 4 Tie team (DTS Adames) stay ranked that high? I guess it pays to have your team excluded one week and included the next, huh?
At the top, I would assume that Kicks, Solar Red, and Sting Black will all work itself out when they play head-to-head, but based on how other head-to-head matches are being treated, I'm not so sure. This "ranking" it just silly. Maybe you can sell it to the NCAA Selection Committee. It makes about as much sense as they do.

briggsn wrote:It never ceases to amaze me about how strange this "ranking" has become. First, Sting Fuego (record 12W-1L-2T) beats Kicks JM (8W-4L-4T) last weekend (1-0) and ends up ranked below them, despite the much better record and head-to-head win. Second, Fuego's total points last week were 57, now they are 46???

Stop caring so much and be thankful that you are able to pay $100 a month on top of everything else for your daughter to play soccer

Re: FBR06G 10-07-2015
Was last week way off or this week?
Quite frankly, where some of these teams are ranked simply doesn't pass the eyeball test, so obviously some of the assumptions put into the formulas are just plain bad.
Two teams we recently played are ranked 27 spots apart on this thing. The higher-ranked team couldn't beat the lower-ranked team on its best day. Looks to me once you get outside the top ten or so, its like picking stocks by throwing darts.
It does make for a good hump day laugh.

The correction will adjust the total ranking pts. back to where they should be, and will address and fix many of large jumps and drops seen below the top 10.

That still doesn't explain how a team that wins a head-to-head match-up can be ranked lower, especially with a MUCH better record. But, I don't want to dredge up the past discussions from last week, so I guess I will just "Let It Go" (as I fade to singing....great, now that song's stuck in my head).

While I am working on getting the new posting ready you can go thru Fuego and JMs games and compare your wins losses and ties to which tiers those teams are in That may help you understand FBR better. You can use last weeks tiers. It all comes down to your strength of schedule for Fuego. Yes you beat JM by one point. But I think you will see some ties in your records against lower level tiered teams. Playing silver at PLD affected your SoS

And fuego, fbr06g suggests : you should have played platinum to stay above JM. Wait a minute, you have two full squads while JM is still player hunting via FBR.

Fuugo complaining about being in the top 10 while playing in gold on Sunday's really makes no sense.

Suurrree you haven't. Just every post you've had has been about kicks. If you're so happy, then why concern with kicks? Jealousy perhaps.f4all wrote:My ways are annoying but I do mean what I said. Btw, I have never had a thought to bring my child to kicks nor am I a recruiter and the kicks parents who brought their kids to sting tryouts know what I meant. Two full squads and no pretending here

Good thing you have numbers, once parents start realizing kids aren't learning soccer, but to just stand in the box and kick it out, you will need those numbers.

Thank you for not coming out to train. Everyone knows Kicks doesn't have any players at their practices. Congrats on having your dd on a top team. Enjoy it.....it is just kids soccer.
