Interesting outcome. Looks like a D2 Plano team won the Gold Bracket. I recall a couple threads in summer/fall claiming a separation existed between the bottom LH D1 teams and LH D2/D3 teams. Looks like the gap may be closing or gone between the bottom LH D1 teams and the top Plano teams.

A parent at the complex said that Plano D2 team was also the same team that missed Lake Highland by one goal their first year of qualifying and missed Lake Highland by one goal this year. At some point they are going to break through.

Any one know where they are from? Is this an independent club? How long they've been together?

Sparta are out of Burleson. The 04 team won the Summer Shootout in June and beat some good LH teams in there. They have missed Qualifying the last 2 years

They are an independent from Burleson. They've been a team (with some turnover) since U-little days. They do very well during league season very well, but for some reason struggle in the summer during QT.

The '03 group suffered a similar setback their first QT, but qualified the next and are now doing very well in LH.

Not sure how age pure will affect these teams, but I hope they someday make it. Too good of a team for Plano or Arlington.

Sparta represents Plano D2 bc they’ve had some bad luck in the LHQT the past two years and played Arlington last year. My DD ‘s team has played Sparta twice and they are a very solid team.  I agree Whodatbrah, Sparta will break through unless AP has something to do with that.  

Both semi’s this past weekend went into PK’s.

Congrats to Sparta for finishing on top.

One of the parents of the team they beat in the finals said they won with kickball. Any truth to the "they are a kickball" club? Has anyone seen them play? are they a possession team or dump and chase? I guess I'm asking if they just have fast, athletic girls, or skilled soccer players, or maybe a mix?

Everybody plays kickball according to the parents on the losing team. LH does a good job with the talent he has. The team is very similar to their 03 team and I wouldn't say they play kick and rush but they do have some kids that can out run you so why wouldn't you play in behind teams more often than not
