KnKsDad and Pitch,
So I thought this article referenced LP, it did not so I'll retract my statement about LP. I'd still be surprised if LP was operating in the black. Hard for most clubs to do that. After all, where is this Anfield Texas complex they have been raising money for years? And I'm sure you know the damage the former Solar owner did to his club. Don't think they've every fully recovered from that.
Don't exactly think my comments are laughable, but if you have a brand to protect, then laugh away!
This Part 3 article was from a DMN article on youth sports, especially select. Interesting read. Scroll to 3/4 down the page, left side on soccer club financials.

See my earlier comment on DMN article, but across the pond? Hardly. As a parent who's DD has played for 2 of those clubs with that kind of backing I don't see how it really helps a lot, from a player or family perspective. I know some jr coaches come to the states in summer, to charge parents for the kids camps. Then a bunch of coaches from these clubs head to UK or the continent for some nice training. But with all the flush funds of TV royalties you'd think some of those rich Euro clubs could at least underwrite a partial uniform kit.
Ya'd think, but that's me.
OK, back to watching La Liga on BeIN sports.

soccer4fun wrote:RWD, do you have any facts to substantiate such a claim about LP? What would even lead you to believe they are not in the black ? 22% of families in America live below the poverty line and 50% of small business fail in the first 5 years but no one is claiming that is you. LP is probably the best fiscally run club in America, I would suspect. How many projects on the scale they are doing have you built ? I am just saying it does take time and all of us in the club are confident it is happening; now again if you have some facts I would love to hear them, but I suspect your points are more LP bashing then facts.
Hey dude, chill. I'm not LP bashing. I don't have a bone to pick with the club at all. I don't have real facts. So yes, it's me just surmising....but when you state they are "probably" the best fiscally run club in the country...you would suspect? I'm guessing you don't have facts either. Maybe I'm wrong about my guesses. Willing to admit it if I am. But, I've been around enough to hear all the inside stories. Lots of issues with big soccer clubs. Ever hear of the Dallas Rush story? Yeah, they were gonna build a mega complex in Frisco better'n everyone else. They never made it because it's hard.
Oh, before I head to bed, does anyone know where I could find a great deal on flowers? It's about plantin' time.

Agree with this question - why not Sting? Someone referenced that Texans, Solar and FC Dallas have the DA teams on the boys side so they might have the best shot at girls' DA teams. Obviously, Sting does not have boys, so that's a pretty big factor in them not having a current DA team!
It seems like the first question to be answered would be how many clubs in NTX get the girls DA. The powers-that-be might already know, and we have heard whispers that it is 2. If this is to be a more elite version of ECNL they should probably go with 2 clubs. There might be a push for 3, but even that will leave one of FC Dallas, Texans, Solar or Sting out (sorry Feet, I really like you, but I don't think you will get DA). I don't know enough about the power structure of USSF and the clout of the local clubs to predict which of those club(s) will find themselves on the outside (of DA) looking in, but I think it would be a tough decision to leave any of those 4 out.

It's an interesting question. Medina is and has been one of the key drivers for ECNL. He was actually one of the participants in the recent "summit" meeting between USSF and ECNL prior to the formal announcement for the DA. Based on that, does Sting even apply for DA and/or does USSF hold Sting/Medina's strong ties to ECNL against them?
If track record of developing players that enter the WNT pools is a strong factor, then I would think USSF would have to give Sting strong consideration based on the number of players they have who have been called up to WNT camps recently (there have been at least 5 different Sting players in the past year).
Like I said, it will be interesting, although my money is still on FCD and Texans getting Girls DA spots...

Haha, we have been with them for the past almost 3 years. The problem is they don't care younger age group, hard to find a good coach really focus on development before U12.

We have been with a few coaches within the same club, not developed as I wish to :-(
Do you have a good coach to recommend? Are you still with LP?

So a few coaches with this "big" club with an ECNL slot couldn't develop DD as wished? Either your standard is unrealistic or it's just a shame..
