I'm trying to get a list together of which direction the byes are going for the 05 age group. Please add next to the team if you know the bye is going up to 04, staying or the team is disbanding. Post'em if ya got em!

Humm...I thought FC DALLAS YOUTH 05G NORTH WHITE was staying 05.

Also, FriscoSoccer posted that Solar Red and Solar East would also take the bye to 04

And LiverPool Elite is taking their bye to 04 per post on the forum.

Don't the bottom four spots in D3 get relegated & filled thru QT?

So if my math is right, 11 byes already moving up, plus those four D3 spots means at least 15 teams will come in thru this summer's QT...

It looks like we could have anywhere from 13 - 20 spots available through qualifying. Now, the question will shift to how many teams will be competing for these spots? We thinking more or less than 40?

My personal opinion is to wipe the slate clean for the 05 age group and start over. You would think that all the teams with D2 and D3 byes would want to try again to see where they stand in this whole new set of girls. Who's to say that a team this year with a D2 bye couldn't qualify as a top D1 team this year, especially if the team is a majority of older 05's with a year of LH experience. But what the hell do I know....i'll just keep handing out money.

Not sure about wiping slate clean (returning players/teams shouldn't have to go back through qualifying), but at least a DI Supergroup of 20 again. Figure it out on the field through a 19-game season - not a 3-game tournament that will be next to impossible to properly seed this year.

Agreed....20 team super group makes sense. It's kinda like starting over isn't it? So if your DD's team has a D3 bye....would you rather them keep that bye and stay in D3 over taking a shot at moving up?

Because half of her team is 05AP and she has to start over and find an 04 team, which I am sure is the case with many 04s that were on 05 teams. And if this new 04 team didnt get the bye that the previous 05 team earned or if the bye goes with the 03 team then yes she has to start over as well.

Well...if your club takes the bye from the 04's that are on the team that earned it, that's jacked up. But that is your club doing that. If your club has a D1 04 bye and half a roster there will 50 girls out there next week competing for those spots.

Tough call. Guess it depends on how they feel about the additions to their team and having to totally guess about the quality and depth of the new teams going through QT. Is it worth the risk of losing a LH spot? Personally, I'd probably stay in D3 while the new team comes together and hope to move up through promotion.

Very tough call. I would go the other way, because I've always been one to shoot for the top. I'm going to play the "what if" card here for a second. What if you stay D3 and all of the new teams coming in have to go into D3 spots. Some of those teams could be D1 levels teams in D3. That could get your DD's team relegated after the season.

Looks like we are holding steady at 15 spots for the QT.

It would be 17 if the bottom 4 teams from D3 dropped in relegation.

Counted 17 - don't the bottom 4 in D3 get relegated regardless?

Hey....I was thinking the same thing. Does anyone know how LH is going to handle relegation for this age group??

Who knows? This is what they said earlier.

U11 DI = 20 Teams
1st thru 10th place earn a BYE and remain in DI 11th thru 18th place earn a BYE and form DII 19th and 20th place earn a BYE and move to DIII U11 DIII = 10 Teams
1st and 2nd place earn a BYE and move to DII
3rd thru 6th place earn a BYE and remain in DIII
7th thru 10th place do not receive a BYE and must re-qualify There will be 4 open spots for DIII in QT

I overheard a DOC talking to group of 04 parents last week saying that LH is pushing all clubs to move their 05 byes up to 04 and just re-qualify all 05's . Does anyone know if there is any truth to this....or have they heard the same thing? I wouldn't think much of it, but I've had several people pm me and say that Solar sent out an email saying they have decided not to keep an 05 bye. Seems odd.
