DO NOT ALLOW YOUR DAUGHTER TO PLAY FOR THIS COACH
DO NOT ALLOW YOUR DAUGHTER TO PLAY FOR THIS COACH
Everyone holds the same desirable goals for their team or for their kids. For the price of club dues, we want results. When a coach is earning income from a club we hold him/her to high standards. We expect that coach to train and develop players and remain competitive. I know coaches are under immense pressure for the clubs in which they coach. I understand they need to win or possibly lose their job. I get all of that. I really do. I am not a parent that supports the ‘everyone wins’ mentality because that theory is non-existent in the real world, where our beloved child athlete will one day be competing. I want my player’s coach to keep looking for the best talent and when they find them I urge MY player to push hard and earn their minutes. Nothing is ever guaranteed. Nothing is free. Every day is a tryout. Every practice is an opportunity.
A roster can only hold so many players and the struggle for many parents and certainly for young players to comprehend is that playing competitive sports can sometimes result in player cuts. What too many coaches fail to understand is the lasting impact they have on players. However competitive the situation becomes, the coach must remain professional and understand there is a ‘right’ way to handle the toughest assignment….cutting a player.
Thanks for reading. To continue….never, ever, ever allow your daughter to train with or try out for FC Divas girls coach, Alonzo Segovia. This dude invites players to signing day, allows them to sign a contract, and then cuts them the next day. Coward move! He has no clue that the girls he coaches are busting their butts to get that roster spot. He fails to realize the emotion they feel when they know they’ve made the team. He forgets being young and having that feeling of accomplishment and self-pride that will likely exceed most emotions they’ve felt thus far in their early lives. This pig of a man will allow a player to feel that pride and SIGN A CONTRACT to be a part of his team, and then rip that all down within 24 hours. As previously mentioned, I understand and appreciate competition…when handled like an adult.
Who cuts a player the day after signing day? Should it be allowed that players can be cut AFTER they sign a contract? Why invite them to signing day? Why allow a young girl, despite the fact she truly understands competition, to have to feel such disrespect, confusion, rejection, and pity when all of it could have been avoided. This unnecessary, indecent, disrespectful, hateful, rude, sorry ass man single handedly left a black eye on the game we all love so much. Keep in mind the impact you have on young people, Mr. Segovia and shame on you for your recent actions. If you want to cut a kid, then cut a kid. There’s a protocol…an etiquette that should be followed. Post signing day, how many teams are out there to go tryout for?! You could have avoided this. Makes me nauseous. Good luck this season Coach! May karma leave its impact on your ball bag.

I have never heard of a lowlife move like this one but I would certainly notify NTSSA.
Sorry you had to go through this.

Complaints of this sort are overseen by NTSSA Youth Comissioner (I believe that is Janet Campbell) or their appointee.

Not sure where you are located but it sounds like there still are a number of '04 teams looking for players.
Good luck!

U12 16
U13 18 and so on.
The point of it being once you have given all your contracts out you couldn't sign another player until you got the contract back. Those are North Texas rules.
The difference nowadays is that most are sent electronically and the regulation on how many get sent out is lost.

18 is insane for 9v9, and 16 is a money grab.

U12 is going to 9v9 this year. Roster will shrink in size for that.TxFutbal wrote:KeeperCommander wrote:U12-U14 is 18 player max.Triumph FC wrote:You are only allowed to give out contracts to the maximum of your roster.
