I have a headache!!!!

From coaches that teach assault tactics and cheat w birth certificates, sitting Suzy down when CPP players take her minutes your not making a good sales pitch to the masses. What can help me decide what team is best for my 06 daughter when this seems to be the standard across the board for a majority of the big clubs.

Spending time to do your homework, asking direct questions, having a truly objective view of your DD's ability, common sense.

and get your DD involved in the discussion.. Your DD knows which team she wants to play on.

Is a coach going to tell her she's a benchwarmer and the ace that is on another team is going to take her minutes. It sounds like to me from the conversations that's not the case. Of course there are parents who don't mind Suzie sitting the be ch because she has a pretty uniform on and winning some games. I'm not that parent.

what type of parent are you? Usually parents gravitate towards clubs their personality identifies with. If you are an A-hole parent, then you would choose club x or y. If you are a parent that wants your DD to maximize her ability and don't care about whether she gets a soccer scholarship or not then you might choose Club A or B. If you are a parent that is just trying to get little suzy off the couch to get some exercise, have a peer group, and watch her have fun and experience the notion of team and accountability, then you might choose Club 1 or 2.

You tell me.. Are you mismatched?

I dont like being lied to...tell me what team fits that mold.

Ahh.. Now we are getting somewhere.. That is a different conversation. There are a ton of them that don't revolve around the sun, or drive Toyotas and drink Dr. Pepper. There will always be some coaches in a club that will lie to you, but at least there are clubs out there that truly exist to help parents develop girls into wonderful young ladies both on and off the pitch. If the DNA of the club is not to do this and the coach does, then talk to your DOC to discuss your options. I have known many coaches who were let go by their club because they did not adhere to the club values.

there are some teams that ride in the luxury of a Lexus. And there are some teams who use really good sun screen and sun glasses that will protect you from the sun. My wife really loves drinking Dr. Pepper in her Lexus and I do have a child that has a really good sun tan.

Sounds like there is no team that fits this mold on this forum.

there are more of them out there than there are liars... do your homework and ask questions you may not want the answers to. get your DD involved in the conversation as well. I would tell you who they are but at the end of the day, you have to determine who they are based on your mindset and circumstance. There are a ton of awesome coaches in the system.

No. The point is, you are making a multi-thousand dollar purchase/investment. I think that you will find that with any big investment/purchase, be it an appliance, car, house, mutual fund, college, etc., that the more you do your homework, ask direct questions of the person selling the item/service, have a truly objective view of what you are bringing to the transaction and what you want to get out of the transaction, and use common sense, the chances that you will be satisfied with that purchase increase exponentially.

Half-ass your decision, or go in with unrealistic expectations, and you probably won't be happy.

If he is a goood coach and honest he would. Maybe he has another team that she could be a starter on and play max minutes. If that would suit her better that is a better route than riding the pine. Most parents do not want to hear that though, they want to know why their DD that just came out of Rec and scored 20 goals is not starting on a DA team. SHE SCORED 20 GOALS RIGHT.

The picture of north texas soccer: Right after we moved to TX, our dd joined an independent club in 2013. She only played rec before 2013. We loved her 1st coach (still in contact to this day). Her coach joined a large club for 3 weeks then moved to another large club. The team fell apart so we found another team (large club) for our dd. We loved her 2nd coach. Our dd was "playing up" one year so when the team went select we had to find another team (independent club) for our dd. We really loved her 3rd coach. The coach changed to another independent club. We stayed with this coach. Then the age pure rules we put into effect. We had to find another team (independent club) for her to join. We love her 4th coach. Her current team is a strong LHGCL D1 team which is really fun to watch. So our dd has played for 8 different clubs (4 independent , 4 large clubs) and 4 different coaches mostly due coaches leaving one club for another, her playing up one year, and the AP rule changes. All of her coaches have been great. However, we have a dd that absolutely loves the game of soccer. She HATES to miss practice and is in tears when a game is cancelled. Her attitude to all these club changes has been great. It has made her a better, stronger leader on the field as well. She also understands that soccer is just a game not real life. It makes her a better person because she has to not think selfishly if her team is going to succeed. It has been fun to watch her grow as a player and person during this process. Each one of her former and current coach has taught her something different (passion, leadership, adv. skills, teamwork, friendship) about this beautiful game.

8- club changes, damn their are those on here that would frown upon that many moves. Great story!

I would not say their are tons of awesome coaches out their.

Zizou what are your really trying to say here.

That their are not many quality coaches.

I am thinking that it is not the coach that determines the success of our dd.
