Premier Cup

As of today there are only three teams signed up in the 05G division and all are Solar teams. Seems most divisions are only Solar teams. Does this tournament usually fill spots closer to the start date or is it usually just Solar teams that play in it?

Solar teams are required to play in the event. The last couple of years the tournament has been well over 200 teams. Currently just under 100 are registered. As with most tournaments teams usually register in the last week of the registration period. Registration deadline is July 31 I believe.

I think the issue is timing.. It's freakin hot and many of the teams that played Tut/QT are taking a break, many of the elite teams are just coming back from exotic tournament play-cations, teams gearing up for Beat the Heat in OKC, and schools starts for many of the kids on the Monday after the tournament.
I think Solar just crazy for scheduling a tournament in August. If they could convince Jerry to open up The Star and go indoors, I'm in.. Otherwise, I will be sippin on a cool beverage by the pool that I have filled with ice that weekend.

So teams are going to pay to travel to play in a Oklahoma tournament instead of staying home sleeping in their own beds and playing some of the top teams in every division. If it’s not the top competition your looking for then solar has a wide variety of competition you can choose to wet your appetite.
Even more so at the beat the heat tournament teams travel to play dallas teams in Oklahoma. Plus, just my opinion what a crap tournament.

It does look like a Solar v Solar tournament. I don't know anything about the OK tourney but that team list is heavy on the hosting club as well (OK Energy), Premier Cup playing at High Point and Carpenter Park fields which are crappy. You will need to watch out for the ravines that have opened up this Summer.
