LH QT

Interesting seeding and placement, looks like Bracket A is stacked considering the pool of teams. Anyone know the playing format?

They conveniently leave out how teams will be seeded for the second weekend, leaving it open to the "discretion" of LHGCL.

Agreed Defendher, Bracket A has three competitive teams, but every year there seems to be one or two pools that look a little questionable. You have to wonder how much of the top talent these team were able to retain or attract with DA, DA2, ECNL and ECNL2 kicking off this year. That's more of a question than a statement of fact.

Good point... I know two of the top bracket A teams retained their core roster and added a few good pieces so it will be interesting to see how this all shakes out if the third was able to do the same.

That's impressive. Not easy keeping or attracting top talent at this age. Credit to the team and coach. I don't know who many/any of these teams are, but I am surprised to see a 06 team going through qualifying with a ranking (GotSoccer) like Impact. I guess the Sting teams last year knocked out some very good teams. I did see the West Texas FCD team in State Cup this year. They will give the teams in Pool A some problems. Very talented team.

GotSoccer rankings are not a very good representation of how good the teams are or how they compare to other teams. You should use youth soccer rankings. Gotsoccer is based on points earned playing games and tournaments. Some teams are actually quite a bit better than their gotsoccer ranking but haven't accumulated they points. Common reasons are they don;t play many tournaments or they play up into different age groups in tournaments where the point value of the age group/bracket is not as high.

This by no means takes away from Impact's team. They are a solid team and should compete well.

Agree TXFutbal... In this case rankings are pretty much aligned which is surprising Impact (GS-10, YS—12) FCD WTX (GS-24; YS-25) so would say both teams are pretty solid by either standard.

Good clarification on the rankings TxFutbal and Defendher. You both seem to have a good handle on these teams. Who are the early favorites to get through Qualifying?

I like Spence (old LP Liddell team can stretch a field pretty quickly and the keeper is outstanding). Not as dynamic on the possession side but can score quickly on transition. D tends to give up a lot of shots but with that keeper, I guess it doesn't matter so much.

I like Impact seems to have a solid D and can possess pretty well. Forwards can shoot with power on frame.

I like FCD Blue.. Fastest on transition I have seen so far out of all the QT/D3 teams. The outside mids are D1 quality but they play an unusual formation for 11v11.

I also like FCD WTX and Revolution is an interesting make up of girls.. Plays like the '05s.. Fairly physical team based on the limited time I have seen them. Question is what happens when a big squad like Spence gets physical back.

The team I am most intrigued about and can't get a pulse on is Fiachetti. Every time I think of this team one way they prove me wrong. So no line on these girls. What I do like about this squad is the girls play team soccer, play hard, and seem to have a blast playing with each other. Fun to watch.

Almost all the the teams have a shot if it's their day and there is that one special girl that wants it bad enough. The heat will be the great equalizer for the long ball teams that can't possess well and have material drop offs when they sub.

The QT brackets seem to be seeded to provide some great match ups. You guys are going to have to keep me posted. I will be on a beach drinkin something cool and refreshing wondering why Pirates never ruled the world

Looks like 5 of 6 will advance (except Revolution). Week 2 placement will be interesting as many of these teams will play a second time if purely placed based upon week one scores (which they didn’t do last year).

Got soccer rankings are a much better indicator at least at the 06 age group.

Regardless of who gets in this coming weekend, a couple potential matchups could be interesting. Seeding will likely dictate which of the second place teams have the toughest route; Spirit, FCD White or Solar. If this bunch is like all her other teams...good luck to whoever plays the crazies of KW. LH should hand out earplugs for the opposing parents and players.
