Then the head ref with the DT-Rangel vs DT- Gloz (dark haired older lady). Man she makes NO calls at all. She does more talking to the parents on the side line during game then reffing the game itself. There where several calls the line refs called and she waved it off. She also refs in SDL because I remember her this season.
There is a young blonde girl ref from Friday night Aces vs DT game that was AWESOME. She controlled the field and for the first time since we started academy have I seen a yellow card given to a player. It was a proper call for the foul but I also liked that she explained to the player what was & wasn't allowed.
Don't get me wrong I don't think most fouls these girls are doing are intentional at all. Just the refs need to make the calls (intentional or not) and then explain what can & can't be done. It only took seconds for above ref to do.

maybe my observation was just wishful thinking and we still have some problems. i was mainly speaking as a generalization. there are still cheap shots and missed calls. in the past there has been much talk about too rough of play and officials not effectively laying down the law. i thought the primetime tournament showed some promise as there was (to me) a little less roughness and some good calls.
