FBR is back for the 02's!

Thanks again to bwgophers for helping with the transition.

The FBR currently considers all games starting at the beginning of May 2011 and includes all spring/summer tournaments through last weekends Primetime. (Spring '11 league games are no longer included)

I've only included teams that have played at least 3 games since May 2011. This initial pre-fall season ranking will of course change as we get new league games in. After the Plano Laborday tournament and a couple weeks of league play this ranking should be pretty solid.

I'm only aware of one tie that Rowdies/DT Higg have had . It was against FCDallas Grubbs in tourn. 1-1

Actually, you guys tied Webb and beat them in pk's. I believe this is considered a tie in FBR purposes as they don't consider pk's a good way to earn a victory. Glotz also has 2 ties against Webb in tourny finals and lost both times in Shootout. I guess FBR figures if it was a regular season game and not a tourny it would of ended in a tie.

Correct. FBR counts games that go to PK's as a tie.

Texas Summer Classic is the Ayses tourny. DTN also beat Polaris 02. Looks like that tourny might of been missed. In the Carey Inv their were 3-4 02 teams playing up in 01 bracket. I also believe DTN played in a outdoor summer league instead of indoor...not sure were you would find the results of those games, but they were legit 11v11 games against other 02 teams.

A bit of a catch 22 because tourney bracket games are played under different rules than league games and tourney pool games (i.e. tourney bracket games must have a winner/loser and thus will go to PK's to determine that). In an ideal world, I would like to have been able to give the PK winning team credit for a W, while still giving the losing team credit for a draw. Unfortunately, FBR doesn't have such an option built into the software to do that.

Also, if you look at the true "spirit" of what you are trying to accomplish with a computer formula based ranking system, you really want all the data that goes into the formula/model to be treated on an equal basis. The only way to truly do that is to just consider what happens as a result of on the field 11 v 11 play during regulation and possibly overtime period play.

I made a command decision when I did the FBR rankings to count tourney bracket games decide by PK's as draw for the FBR ranking purpose (fyi... Hobbit did the same for '01 Power Rankings).

Now that I have handed the reigns over to 02Dad, it is his decision if he wants to modify anything going forward .

Thanks... Good catch. The Ayses tournament was not included in the calculations. I'll get the data in their today and repost an updated ranking.
