I definitely expected a stronger showing from south. Maybe it was inguries. Maybe the other teams are stronger than they thought. Who knows but I am sure we will see them in another tournament or they will stop playing out in the middle of nowhere and play in one of the majoy leagues.
The U8 fields at Railroad were North and South facing. Did TBG play more than one game at Railroad? IF so that would certainly be disadvantageous.

Re: Post AFC Top 20
These are just my opinion.
1. Dalglish - Have done well against 03's and won the 04 tournament last weekend.
2. DT North - Not a very strong showing against 03's but I still think they are very strong
3. Solar Kennington - Have also done well against 03's and have the highest overall winning percentage.
4. DT Bennett - Need to play some tournaments to show how consistent they can be. Hard to judge a team when they play very few games.
5. Odyssey - Very good team. Future tournaments will show if they deserve to be a top 5 team.
6. Lady Aztecs - Dangerous team
7. Fever - Had a few losses lately but their overall record for the year is tremendous
8. Texas Spirit North - If strength of schedule is factored in, this is where they belong.
9. Juventus Black - Nice tournament last weekend but how many top 10's have they beaten besides Texas Black Gold? And they used two good guest players. Still have to prove they belong here.
10. Texas Black Gold - Had a great run, but recent results show they have slid a bit. Another hot streak could easily put them back in the top 5.
11. DTS - Results have not been that great lately. Will probably turn things around when they get used to their new coach.
12. GSSC - Solid but have trouble against top teams.
13. Liverpool Barnes - Still have a lot to prove against top teams but so far they have proven themselves.
14. Liverpool Keegan - On the rise and getting better.
15. Texas Spirit - Did well in the tournament last weekend so they earned their way up to this spot.
16. Wizards - Very feisty
17. Liverpool Beardsley - Stats don't lie. They are now the #4 team for Liverpool 04's . Their overall record for the year isn't that good. I did not include wins against the rec teams they play in EAL.
18. Sting East - Lots of potential
19. Tie - Solar Red and DT Davis
20. Tie - Solar White, Texas Spirit North Gray, Cosmos

3. Solar Kenn
4. TBG (beat Bennett 2-0, lost to Bennett 1-2)
5. DT Bennett
6. Juve Black/Lady Aztecs (do not fool yourselves, its the same team. The forward makes the team. Better supporting cast with Lady Aztecs.
7. DT South
8. Fever/Odessey
10.Spirit North
I put TBG ahead of Juve/LA because TBG has played better competition this fall.

I just want to stick up for Rosales team here for just 1 second. While I don't have a player on this team we did catch the last half of their Sunday game while we waited for our game to start. Their biggest issue is using the whole field. They were still very much in the 7v7 mind set. They played tough and passed a lot better then their opponent. DTN didn't seize some great opportunities at scoring. They just held on to the ball to long at times. Good game for the half that we saw.
From what I have read on here isn't this their 1st 9v9 experience? Could be wrong but that needs to be taken into account. Now if they have played 9v9 as much as Kenn & Dalglish then I would be concerned. Didn't everyone complain in August Solar didn't use the whole field? Now look at them they are playing great up in the '03's. I think this will be the same for DTN if they do decide to keep playing up. It's a learning curve that all these teams will go through when moving to bigger fields & adding 2 more players to the mix on the field.
Okay now that we have beaten the horse to death on this tourney can we please move on to the next schedule showing? We all know Dalglish is great & needs to be #1 I am tired of the constant same old c**p.

You do have a valid point. Every team is going to struggle a little when they first make the transition from 7v7 to 9v9. It's not as easy as some people think.

Very true. Wait till you make the transition from 9v9 to 11v11!! We just completed our 2nd season at 11v11. It still amazes me to see those little 8&9 year old legs running across that big field.
I will say it like our coach told our team. "The field may be 120 yards, but you only play on 60 of it".

If they continue to play up rosales will be fine. Holding the ball is directly related to the fact that a kid 1yr older is faster than the kids you played before. Regardless of skill level you will have less time on the ball. You will have less of an ability to just run around defenders. The width isn't needed but it does help the smaller younger players buy themselves more time. You can outplay the older teams with soccer but you have less of an ability to just physically overwhelm them

Maybe your DD only has to play 60. My DD has to play the whole 120!
