Re: Legacy Freedom Cup RESULTs...
As I Type, Liverpool-Barnes has a 3pt Edge Over Texas Spirit, in Bracket A. But the Thing is, Texas Spirit has Played 1 FEWER Game to this Point...They Play United Shamrocks @ 8am Sunday & It'd Be a Pretty Big Upset if Texas Spirit DIDN'T Win...
Bracket A - Texas Spirit (Barring the Unforeseen)...
Bracket B - Fever United-RED...Plays the Bracket C Winner in the Semi-Finals, @ 11am..
Bracket C is btwn Texas Spirit North-RED & TSC Hurricanes, who TIED Head to Head...Texas Spirit North-RED Currently has a 10pt Lead, but the Hurricanes have Played 1 Fewer Game...They Play Liverpool-Redknapp @ 8am Sunday & it'd Be Another Upset if they Lost...
Bracket C - Texas Spirt North or TSC Hurricanes...
Wildcard - More than Likely, the Bracket C 2nd Place Team (Texas Spirit North OR TSC Hurricanes)will Get the Wildcard, but Liverpool-Barnes STILL has an Outside Chance @ it, Based on Points...

Bracket B (Fever United-RED) vs. Bracket C (Texas Spirit North or TSC Hurricanes)...
Being "Only" 99.999% BIASED, I'm Hoping & Praying that IF the Texas Spirit Sister Organizations Bump Heads, it's in the Championship...I'm Calling in a Favor to the Soccer GOD's...

Good luck to all the teams left!
Texas Spirit v Hurricanes
Fever v Texas Spirit Red
Aside from Hurricane like winds at Railroad Park it was a fun tourney. The Spring season should be fun to watch with lots of strong 04 teams developing.

Texas Spirit 2-0 Over United Shamrocks
TSC Hurricanes 2-0 Over Liverpool-Redknapp
Bracket A Winner - Texas Spirit
Bracket B Winner - Fever United-RED
Bracket C Winner - Texas Spirit North-RED
Wildcard - TSC Hurricanes
I have to Make Mention of the CLOSENESS of these Brackets...For Instance, Liverpool-Barnes BARELY Missed the Wildcard, yet had the Same EXACT # of Overall Points as the Bracket B Winner, Fever United-RED...& My Beloved Texas Spirit North Won Bracket C by a Grand Total of ONE Point Over TSC Hurricanes...
We've Got Texas Spirit vs TSC Hurricanes & Texas Spirit North-RED vs Fever United-RED, in the Semi-Finals @ 11am...

TSC HURRICANE TSCH 04 GIRLS EDWARDS (OK) vs. FEVER UNITED 04 RED (TXN) in finals.
Hurricanes beat TX Spirit 04 1-0
Fever beat TX Spirit North Red 3-1
Best of luck to both teams!
And well played by all the teams in this tourney. As D.D. mentioned above... there were some super tight brackets and very close games. We (Barnes) had a fantastic game against TX Spirit 04 that we lost 1-0... it was one of the closest games I have ever seen my kid play in. Very exciting to see 7 and 8 year old girls battle like they did.
And Bracket B... wow. That was a TOUGH one considering Fever tied twice and won once in bracket play.
Great stuff and a great way to lead into the Spring season where many of these teams will meet again.

Congrats to Fever Red for winning 3-2. Just learned it came down to PKs. Hopefully we can get some game details soon. Sounds like it was a good one.

Re: Legacy Freedom Cup RESULTs...
Liverpool Beardsley-Fever didn't play well and we were fortunate to tie. Several missed opportunities from both teams. Beardsley controlled the ball more and were more aggressive. I was nervous the entire game...IF that is their real team, they belong in the "top 10" conversation.
Liverpool Keegan- moved the ball well but in my opinion, not as well as Beardsley. I'm really surprised that they beat Beardsley. (But Fever United thanks you for giving us new life! hehe) Fever was down 2-0 at the half but gutted out a tie. Felt like we shoulda won, but we make no excuses. By the way, how did you lose to Solar Gold? (no slight to Solar)
Texas Spirit North Red-very athletic and dangerous team. Several girls have strong legs with several near misses on goal. They are gonna surprise teams in the coming seasons and will probably break into the top 10 at some point.
TSC Hurricanes (Tulsa)-Tall, athletic team that would compete in top 10 here. (Coach was a little "too spirited" but, I understand, it was the finals) I hope that they continue to come to tournaments down here or that we can head up north and play there.
I didn't see Liverpool Barnes play and I only saw glimpses of Texas Spirit/TSC game so I cannot comment. All in all, a very competitive tournament. I am impressed how much a lot of these teams have improved. (We definitely need to step up our game this season). It makes for a fun next 2 years.
I do agree that the "top teams" including Liverpool RASE should consider playing in the same league for a season or two. Tournaments are not always the best way to evaluate how good a team is due to guest players and the number of games in a short span. I know a lot of people here get caught up in the rankings but with the exception of 2 or 3 teams, most of the better teams can beat the other on any given day and I love it!

Good comments and observations: I watched the Tulsa team, both TX Spirit Teams, Fever, Liverpool Keegan and Beardsley and felt like Keegan hosed themselves on Friday, we will blame it on the Rain (and Lightning) and good game by Solar Kovarik, to Keegan's credit they came back on Saturday and got better in each game, playing their best game vs Beardsley, (I do believe Beardlsey was missing a player or two with Daddy Daughter Dance, Either way, Keegan and Beardsley are pretty evenly matched and both very well coached), the lose was unfortunate for Beardsley as that knocked them out of Playoffs and sent Fever instead, I expect Fever to be sending Keegan a care package for that gift, Merry Christmas!
Tulsa was big, strong and athletic, was disappointed that only one team out of Pool B made it to the Semi's to get a shot at seeing them.
I expect TX Spirit to be sending care packages to the Tourney Director/scheduler for those Seedings! Merry Christmas!

Yes, Beardsley was missing both starting midfielders for the first half. One showed at halftime and the other was gone the whole game. Hats off to Keegan they played better and more physical catching Beardsley asleep!FriscoSoccer05 wrote:KennyPowers wrote:Legacy Cup color commentary (From Fever parent perspective)

I would say in general Keegan is a more physical team and overall more athletic than Beardsley which is overall better skilled.
In any event, can someone clear up my question on Beardsley, Dalglish, and RAISE? Are these three separate teams going into Spring season? The reason I ask is that originally Beardsley and Keegan were slated for 04 EAL and Dalglish for 03 EAL.
Now on the schedule there is no Beardsley, Dalglish is playing 04, and RAISE is playing 03.
Can someone from LP clear this up?
