What's up with TGPL??

At the 8 am game. No center refs. Having to have coaches do it. For both games. There are two linesmen--one for each game. Absurd.

Agreed, hard to imagine. Not like the schedules haven't been out for weeks? Still can't figure out how you run a league and the refs don't show up. They scrambled some refs for the next game, but still not sure if they had all the linesmen. when they did finally show up for the 2nd game, the ref was very inconsistent.

Unfortunately (as a former assigner) all you can do assign....sometimes refs show to be irresponsible, or circumstances arise, and you're short. Just my 2 cents.

Understand, point taken. As a participant it is hard to imagine, but I am sure it is not an easy thing to coordinate that many games and refs. Just seemed unusual that half or more of the crews did not show at all.

I agree. And I would not have posted anything at all if one ref didn't show--it's understandable, although unfortunate; however, when two 8 am games have zero centers and a total of 2 or 3 linesmen, that is a little odd. And it sounds like maybe no one extra (or only a few) showed up for the games right after ours, but I may have misread that post.

They were late because their parents overslept. I haven't seen a ref out there, old enough to drive.

This afternoon at the PTCL games in Grand Prairie there were no flags and no linesmen at any of the games (only 1 center ref)...all you could hear from all sidelines at every game was parents/coaches screaming & calling offsides.

LOL....would have probably diffused the situation to have someone with a flag at each field who was already paid, choosing to not call any though....although I do hear ya!
