TGPL Predictions for 11/3 Gold division games

Dallas Texans South 03 Adames v Sting'03 Mendoza--Very good game DTS 2-1
Liverpool Dalglish 03 v Sting 03 Scarfone/Searls--Liverpool playing better 1-0
FC Dallas 03G - Premier v FC Dallas East 03G Predator--Battle of FC Dallas can go either way FC east 1-0
Fever Black 03 Phiri v Sting West 03--Fever needs to play better this is the game 2-0
Cosmos 03 v Vitesse 03--Cosmos first win 2-1

I think there are some really good matchups for the final games. I am glad Vitesse gets a chance instead of SRSA. We will see who comes out on top. We all know SRSA is the top team and wish there was some real competition to test them, but there is none so why not take a little break and let the other top teams battle it out. The weather is supposed to be perfect so let's cross our fingers.

FEVER VS STING WEST 2-0

Fever will come out strong since they got beat by the Texans...Sting W has really good defense.

FCD PREDATOR VS FCD PREMIER 2-0

I was hoping for this game. The 2 top FCD teams and they have never played each other even when FCD Predator was Juventus. I think is going to be a very interesting game.

LIVERPOOL VS STING SCARFONE 1-3

Liverpool is a good team, but just don`t have enough fire power to beat Scarfone..good game.

DALLAS TEXANS VS STING MENDOZA 3-1

Sting Mendoza is an excellent team, but Texans are just better.....should be an awesome game to watch.

COSMOS VS VITESSE 2-1

I have never seen the young ladies from Vitesse play so forgive me for assuming they are going to lose, but I have to base my opinion on the experience of Cosmos playing against tougher competition which should help them in this game. We will see.

I hope everybody enjoys their respective games, but overall enjoy the show all of these young ladies will put on for us for our pleasure.....BTW GREAT FALL SEASON!!!

Sting Mendoza over DTS 2-1
Sting has been finding the back of the net when it counts and DTS has been lacking goals this season.

Agree with the previous post about LP. However if Sting can field a full team they may have better luck. Something appears to be wrong with this team. Hope they can get it together. They have some really good players and parents.

Fever tie Sting West 1-1
Fever has had a fever over the last few weeks. I think they could possibly get stung by the West this weekend.

Vitesse over Cosmos 2-0
Not exactly sure why the Cosmos are not doing well this season. Last few seasons they played well in 11v11. May be time for the coach to call a do over.

What's up with srsa not playing dts for 1st, who backed out srsa or dts?
I don't buy resting after a tough season both teams play TGPL
on sat and boys league (top divisions) on sundays. Correct me if I'm wrong
but isn't this the second TGPL season srsa and dts finished 1st and 2nd
and didn't play in the finals?

IMO these are better match-ups than if SRSA played anyway.

LP has built a good team and it is really a tossup unless Scarfone shows.

Number 23 is just too fast and will be a handful.

Sting beat Fever in PTCL and will build on success.

Cosmos 03 v Vitesse 03- 2-1
Cosmos is a very good team and I just don’t know enough about Vitesse.

This is my take on how this weekend should have gone. TGPL needs to get rid of this playoff weekend and have all the teams play eachother 1 time during the season.

DTS 3 / 0 SRSA 0 / 3 someone gets a 0 for backing out.
LPD 2 Sting M 1
FCDE 3 Sting S 1
FCDP 3 Fever 2
Cosmos 2 Sting W 2

If anyone thought they were going to even give SRSA a run for their money or even score on them at that, here are the Standings with Goals For and Goals Against - I think the pack is left to figure out who is the undisputed Number 2 and beyond in the age group:



Makes for some really good games the final week of the season. SRSA has played well in TGPL, TBPL and UAL this Fall. Congrats to them and their success.

Just heard that the Dallas Texans South v Sting Mendoza game was not going to be played, because DTS couldn't play that day.

I think we need to start calling STING GUTIERRREZ instead of STING SCARFONE

Hmmm....now if that is true then that is a curve ball. I'd gone through several potential replacements in my head but didn't give that one much consideration. Will they be Sting East Gutierrez like her 01's?

Come on! Really? DTS WANTS to play SRSA in a BIG way. They don't care if they lose. They are the underdogs. What do underdogs have to fear?

The really tough thing is to keep a winning streak alive. No one likes to lose, but the upside to losing is that you can reevaluate what your team did wrong in the game and work harder on those things. You learn less by success than by failure. Failure is the way we learn and having resilience to keep coming back and trying new things to overcome that failure, is the one of greatest things that help build character.

I hope they pulled out because they are doing something that conflicts with the game rather than ego, lack of depth, injuries to key players, etc.

What's the worst case scenario for both of their teams? They lose? Who cares? EVERY team has a bad game sometimes. I've coached my teams where there will inevitably be a game where we would be in the opposition's half 99% of the game and have tons of shots on goal, but still couldn't find the back of the net and lose by one breakaway.

Again, I hope it's not ego because the second place teams want a chance to play the best. Right now, SRSA is the best. No one would dispute that fact with one bad game. If they did, then they are ignorant.

DTS wouldn't play the final game vs SRSA last season.

Sounds like YOU want to play SRSA in a BIG WAY. IMO, I think they probably did have a bad game or an "off day", which is why they only won by 3 in the first meeting. I would focus your DD on the game in front of you and stop speaking for the team. Believe me, Mendoza has plenty of tools and the drive to help DTS and your DD "build character" and "deal with failure".

DTS vs Sting Mendoza will be a great game!!

I agree that will be a great match-up.
But, most of us want to know why SRSA would pull both the A and B teams out of the playoffs. I spoke with a couple DTS parents earlier this week and they were looking forward to Saturday's matchup vs. the champs.
Maybe we need an 03 poll asking the readers why they think SRSA is not playing Saturday....
