03 QT games being played and this is the best we can do?

We talk endlessly about the 03's for months and now that QT is here, hardly any hot sports opinions? shame!

here's mine, i take fever black for the upset and the win for the bracket. Not that impressed with Mutiny. should be a good game tomorrow...

I do not feel fever over mutiny is an upset

No real chatter right now because game ones all went as we knew they would

There were a couple of #3 over #2 upsets.

#3 (29) Sting Scaife over #2 (15) DT Red South, 1-0
#3 (32) Solar Chelsea over #2 (21) Mustangs FC Bussey, 3-1
#3 (33) Odyssey over #2 (20) Ayses Gold, 2-0

No HUGE upsets but not completely as expected.

Sting G 1st team in D1 Congrats sure SRSA will join in an hour.

FCD Premier ties GSSC Thunder 1-1, that's a bit of a surprise.  
FCD is in a must win vs. Sting Sanchez tomorrow.  

Feet in trouble as well, if they can't outscore AYSES more than Odyssey outscores FCD Blue then they'll be playing next weekend

I - LP Rush vs. Goodman winner takes all
J - Hilton vs. FWFC winner takes all

If Triumph can collect 7 pts then SRSA will not qualify today. I only see a couple of teams qualifying today according to the math.

Actually, according to the math, if DT 03 just ties tomorrow, they win the bracket.

According to the math there are NO "winner take all" games. The games above could all end in ties and the the teams currently listed in 1st place would advance on points.

From the feedback I got today, lots of packing it in and hoping for a tie or a long ball. With so many teams needing to win tomorrow hopefully teams will just play the game and not try to just hold on and try not to lose.

Should be a good day tomorrow.

Are you serious?   According to the math, WINNER does take all.  Meaning whomever WINS NOT TIES will win the bracket.   Duh!

Bracket ties between 1 and 2 are understanbly NOT winner take all.

Well I think what he's saying is that some of those teams don't have to win the game in order to advance.

FCD Suarez, LP Elite, Sting West, LP Rush, Sting Sanchez, Sting Hilton, Dallas Rush, DT Moreno, and Mutiny simply have to tie and they all advance.

Lost to an independent weekend 1 in 3rd game.
Lost second weekend to another independent and ended up in D3.

Believe it or not, I don't have that kind of breakdown to tell you what teams qualified after the first 2 games. Also, it wouldn't be apples-apples in all cases because both the '01's and '02's had some 3-team brackets where the week 1 bracket winners only played 2 games total.

In the '01's, the highest seed that didn't qualify for D1 was #16. For the '02's, it was #18. I don't have the QT history for the '00's, but I remember looking at their QT results leading up to the '01's QT. If I remember correctly, the #1 seeds completely dominated week 1 qualifying that year, with all 12 #1 seeds qualifying in week 1, and I want to say that 10 or 11 of those teams went 3-0 and 6 or 7 of them scored max points (30).

watched Sparta  vs. DT South Adames today....
Adames very good team. Sparta almost opened door for Suarez to go in as #1.
Sparta lost 1-0.   Setting up a must win for tomorrow to avoid elimination

One can argue if actually upsets... Or more due to the QT seeding committee less than stellar performance this year compared to past

Andro Red won this morning 2-0 over a higher ranked DT FW team after showing well against a top 20 team to move on to the 2nd round.

well looks like the number 1's mostly took care of business today, with some nice upsets. i would expect that the displaced 1's will claim their spot next weekend, so the pressures on even more for those remaining.

Yes Really! ...  compared to past years, a close look at the seeding in the 15-26 range, compared to FBR,
recent tournament results and QT results shows a clear unfamiliarity with teams level of play on the part of the QT committee
- and a poor job done in seeding.  
 
It is what it is.     Perhaps next year they get back to better ways



Well done to the all girls putting in the long weeks of preparation and hard work...
