Aggie... we all get it. Sting is great. Texans arent. Sting would never think about using the club pass rule unless it benefitted them and their particular need. However, Texans have used it (per you) to get under you skin. I can confirm, they were very successful.

I believe any manager (and coach) has access to who had club pass players as well as their jersey #s on both giving and receiving teams. Anybody who is either can confirm or deny (I found out from a manager). Don't take my word for it.

It could be that sting does it or will do it too. So far I haven't heard of them abusing it. If they do I'll criticize them too.

I would go for the ability to move a player up or down within a club for the entire season rather than just 1 game. Or allow a player who is getting less than 1/3 game playing time to ask for and get a release to play on a team where they can play.

I bet the biggest proponents of the Club Player Pass rule are the NTSSA staff members. We transferred another player to our team a couple of years ago and I remember being surprised at the number of players requesting releases or transfers for the spring season. I think it was in the hundreds. I bet the North Texas folks are just hoping the clubs can take care of the discontent players in house and save them from the mounds of paperwork. The Club Player Pass gives players an option to find a better playing situation without having to involve North Texas Soccer.

NTSSA could easily just cut out the paperwork by not requiring the paperwork. Just say that transfers between seasons inside of clubs need no NTSSA permission or paperwork.

Just for clarification to me....

"League Play"......is that only teams in that same League?

For Example:
Lake Highlands club teams can only use CPP with inside LHGCL?  What if a club has 2 teams, 1 Team in LHGCL and 1 in PPL?  Can that Club use the CPP?

PPL doesn't recognize CPP yet.
LHGCL will certainly allow a club to player pass from PPL..happens every week...and PPL is not notified, has no say.

The PPL team cannot accept a player pass player from the club's LHGCL team until PPL changes their rules (after learning from the other league's mistakes)

So is the player pass being allowed during LH qualifier? So those D1/D2 teams that don't need to qualify are lending their players to the PPL teams to "HELP" make LH...?

If it's allowed...that's crazy.

No CPP players allowed in the qualifier as far as I know. Once league play begins, that's a different story.

Here is what the rule states stnetsocce as far as CPP

j) NO GUEST PLAYERS ARE ALLOWED. Any players that are deleted between the Qualifying Tournament and the first game of the season will be investigated to insure that the player was not playing with the team as a guest player simply to enhance the team’s possibilities of qualifying for the league. Violations of this rule will result in the team being disqualified from participation in the LHGCL for that soccer year. A report of such activities will be submitted to the North Texas Soccer Youth Commissioner for further action.

The only time a team can use a Club Pass Player during qualifying to help them ensure a spot is if it is within the "SPIRIT OF THE RULE". Duhhhh! LH makes this very clear. LOL

silentparent wrote:i am fine w pass play EXCEPT allowing upper players to play down a division. that has too much room for abuse and is against the concept of different divisions. everybody remembers when a good academy player was used as a ringer in rec right? same thing. if it is used to pull a player up thats great, not put in ringers. if a team needs players the coaches will ALWAYS try to get a ringer of they can...

Nope, it should never be used. No good can come from this.

CPP, allows players to,experience higher level play during a season reducing the grip that a contract has on players.
