Tulsa Lexus Cup

So why is the #3 ranked team in Oklahoma U11 playing in the silver division. Sure looks like someone is trophy hunting!!

Rankings fluke...

They finished 3rd in fall u11 league, & are 1st this season...however better 03 teams playing in u12.

They've been playing 8v8, aside from 1 tournament this spring.

Why isn't Blitz '04 playing in Tulsa Cup or hardly any of their teams?  With Tulsa Cup being one of the biggest tournaments in OK,  you would think right? Give them a special pass and put them in U11 Gold.

In general, Blitz pushes their teams to avoid Tulsa Cup due to issues b/t administrators of 2 clubs stemming from club consolidation. No girls teams as best as I could tell are coming; the Blitz boys (1 06, 3 05, 2 04) teams are risking wrath of club to attend.

This year both clubs are sponsoring tourneys on same weekend (April 25-27). Even though TSC will have had Tulsa Cup (biggest by >100+ teams) 2 weeks earlier.

This might be 1 reason that Blitz has not released applied list for its spring classic (to protect poaching of teams...especially TSC teams crossing over).

Exact statement was ratings fluke...the top 6 teams defined by OSA played u12 d3 last season & are not in their current league.

I'm just pointing out that the large # (1722 of 3190) of points generated by 1 league that doesn't have top 6 teams in it.

Nothing against Jesse or his girls; as they have developed into an outstanding team. He is an outstanding technical coach & really has them developing rapidly into an elite team...I was only commenting on the mathematics of it (the #2 team in the state -at the same club- receives 613 for winning u12d3) & the competition level which they play.

It was a fun & exhausting weekend. 730am games, late games, some professional-grade fields, some fields with a hill, a sand trap, and an occasional dust storm obstacle, not to mention it being about 20 yards too narrow. Then, changing temps from cold to hot -- the rain, the wind, and the hail while everyone was stuck in their cars trying to escape the storm.
Made some budding relationships with teams from OKC and Tulsa for them to bring their teams down to NTX so hopefully we'll see them soon.
And, everyone got home safe.

had fun playing some new teams. The kansas team played some good soccer and actually started the game out making us a little nervous. Was surprised to not see them again in the finals. The NYSA team had some athletes and played tough even though they were insane on the sidelines (and clueless about the rules of soccer)
