Hi all, with all the rain predicted through the weekend, have any of the rain out games actually been played and if so, what were the results? I can just say that I am being very careful of eating anything with seeds lest I spring forth with roots and leaves. Shocked

My 02 has played 4 rescheduled games, 2 originally scheduled games and had 7 cancelations of the remaining 3 games.

True for sure. I figured you guys were praying for time to get healthy after the high school season...and maybe getting an answered prayer?!? Y'all have 5 games left?? Crazy it fell that way. SWW could end up playing a couple games a day-lol. Your schedule was totally ransacked by the weather...

No, no, no. That's not how you should say that. You should have said, "We are undefeated in the last 7 months of LH D2 play". Sounds waaaaay better.....and it's true.

We had one remaining game and it has been canceled since it won't affect promotion or regulation. May drop us in the standing but what can we do? My 04 still have 3 remaining games and they are all scheduled for next week. Just need a raft, snorkel and fins!

Yep, it appears that heat fatigue will not be a major factor in the next two weeks, but fungus and mold may well be. There is a rain chance every day for the next 10 days. Today is the lowest estimation at 20%. I think the suggestion that they utilize the FCD fields (if allowed) and just pay extra. How many parents would willingly cough up an extra $5 to $10 just to get the games done? (Can we say petition?)

Wowee, one game down. If they can't get the games scheduled this week in before Thursday, the weather will keep games from play until the first week in June at least. That being said, I remember multiple Mays in the past few years where the weather was miserably hot and dry. We played in a Houston tournament where it was hot, humid but dirt dry on the fields. Every running step was accompanied with small clouds of dust and the girls looked like they had come through a sand storm.

Even with the plethora of rain, we can be thankful that this May has been much cooler than normal along with being much more rainy.

It should be interesting to see what happens. There are two teams who have to wait out the results of three games in DIII - Fever and Ft. Worth FC. With one game left the most points Fever can get would be 40. With two games left, the best FW can do would be 43. If Fever wins its last game and Ft. Worth loses and wins one of its last two games.

The only question then will be how many open slots there will be in DIII, and who will be playing in the QT.

It appears that SG has a lock on moving up to D1 from DII.

Speaking of Houston,

The tournament is right upon us.

Anyone know what the field conditions are down there.

North side of Houston is not flooded...and this is where the games will be. Obviously, the fields are very wet.
Tournament officials will inspect the fields today and again later this week

The Park website showed that the fields at Meyer were under standing water as of Saturday and were closed. I would think that if they don't receive further downpours, the fields may dry out in time for the tourney.

Get your facts straight or better yet
How about having the tournament officials you know post comments

Sick this is the statement from the Houston Tournament director as of this morning:

Coaches/Managers,

As you know, the city of Houston received quite a bit of rain last night and parts of the city are flooded. That being said, the north side of Houston is not flooded, but our fields are very wet. We are going to spend the day today going to each of the four parks to assess the situation. We will do our very best to make a decision in a timely manner...ideally before out of town teams get on the road.

As for the statement - that would have been more helpful.

As for flooding on the north side of Houston, I think the pictures speak for themselves.

I would guess field availability also depends on further rain.

I have a feeling that they will let us all drive to Houston and then cancel the tourney.

Yep, the forecast will be too late.

The Cruise Ship will be departing Dallas for Houston on Wednesday. Traffic on the I-45 canal is backed up.

Hmm, you know, come to think of it, I have noticed a lot of animals moving through the neighborhood in the last few days. Weird part is, they were in pairs...........
