Re: 2018-2019 DA and ECNL Teams
I personally cannot remember a time where things were only civil and no venom was spewed. Some meltdowns have certainly occurred on here in past years.dadof3 wrote:To give a little perspective...When our 99/00s were entering that first ECNL year, I asked the question if the teams that were leaving LH to join ECNL would keep their LH spots and just pass them down...and people laughed at me...I asked what would keep them from retaining the spot and “awarding” that spot to the next team in the club and people laughed.
That year, nobody did. They took 5 new from QT and nobody was relegated.
The next year and since, those spots have become “club” spots. I see you VLee and we did discuss it, but not like much of what you see here. More civil and more humor...less venom. Certainly some arguing, but a bygone era...nostalgia...btw, most of you posting here will watch your girl NOT want to play college even if given the offers because of the trade offs. Enjoy the ride. They are only babies once.
When we played (probably) our biggest rival in his last game as a coach, our girls went over and thanked him for all the years of battles after the game. Standing ovation for him. Very cool.
However the years since with AP, DA etc..... has stirred the pot consistently these past few. I think more turmoil hence more bickering.

From what I've seen in the U16/U15/U14 groups, the rich (FCD, Solar) got richer, and the poor (Texans outside of their '03s, DFeet, LP) got poorer --

Seen a lot of U14, U15 and U16 DA and ECNL teams at FCD, Solar, Texans, Feet and LP in the past month?
Please.

YES ... SoSy! I'd wondered if we were ever gonna see you around here any more -- good stuff.
Sooo ... Regarding your retort ...
Ya know what makes this all really simple? (come in close for this one) ...
Seeing the kids that came from the aforementioned poor, end up on the rosters of the aforementioned rich. Not all that complicated bub

BigEgo - if you know that much about roughly 20 different rosters a month into the season, you seriously need to get a hobby.

Interesting observation.
By your summary, it then looks like Texans, Feet and LP are developing players while FCD and Solar are recruiting players, I suppose from the aforementioned poor.

Ding Ding. Difference maybe players on the bench one year, leave, players playing and developing for another club(the 'poor') then come in, take a spot and someone else moves to bench. Rinse, repeat.

Re: 2018-2019 DA and ECNL Teams
You know I despise the "LOL" but it's absolutely too tough to lay off when it comes to those two ^ gems ...
Obviously there are fantastic coaches at the "poor" clubs I mentioned ... AF, GV, HN to name a few ... that do a fine job "developing" kids (still get a chuckle at how cliched that term has become with most of you soccer dads), but to say that the "rich" don't have the same is completely nonsensical.
Sure ... Recent history shows that much of the elite talent in DFW do eventually gravitate to the two I have named the "rich" here. However, I can attest that it doesn't take much recruitment to get 'em there

It’d be great forum material. But strictly that.
I heard Texans 04 had some W’s this weekend...but who did they play?
Did they take their “povern stricken” squad and make the right self investments that could propel them into the FCD/Solar tax bracket?

And here I thought maybe BigElitist might know what he was talking about.
Or maybe, the so-called "rich" and "poor" aren't quite as "rich" or "poor" as BigEgo would have you think.
No one is going to argue that one game establishes anything. But maybe the broad generalizations made by the forum blowhard aren't as applicable as he might think. As for the "FCD/Solar tax bracket" - aside from DA, how did FC Dallas do in all its recruiting richness last year? Last I checked, most of their ECNL teams finished near the bottom . . . and behind the #2 teams for Solar and Texans. Though I will admit, it seems like they have cornered the market on PPL teams.
