Can an 01 sign and play up with an 00 team in July?
Are there specific circumstances where it is ok?
Just curious, I have been told yes and no. Looking for official answer.

Yes. Once July 1st arrives an 01' player can try-out for an 00' team. There were several 00's playing up in the 99's last year. I have two 01's coming to my 00' teams this July.

Based on Basil's posts, I have had my doubts about its age for some time now. The profile says 40 years old but it appears the 0 was a just typo.

AM I missing something, I'm pretty sure I've been told that 01s can play on 00s in the fall <- right? I know 01 teams that had 02s in the fall believe their 02s can join them in the Fall of 2012.

I'm pretty sure you can. I know an '00 played on one of the Sting '99 teams this past year. Here is the rule:


B. Age Requirements:
1. It is desired that all teams be age pure. That is, all players on a team should be born on or after August 1 and on or before July 31 of the following calendar year. A player’s age is calculated as her age on July 31 of the current soccer year.
2. Younger players are allowed to play in an older age division with the consent of their coach and parents. However, NTSSA rules state that any player who has not attained the proper age to play Under 11 select soccer may not play up on a competitive (select) team. Players must be 10 years old or older on July 31 to participate in competitive soccer the following soccer year.
