Based on Basil's posts, I have had my doubts about its age for some time now. The profile says 40 years old but it appears the 0 was a just typo.

On the remote possibility that this is a serious question:
No, a player cannot play up her first year of select. There are no circumstances in which this is allowed. After the first year is over, it's ok. Anyone telling you otherwise is incorrect.

I'm pretty sure you can. I know an '00 played on one of the Sting '99 teams this past year. Here is the rule:
B. Age Requirements:
1. It is desired that all teams be age pure. That is, all players on a team should be born on or after August 1 and on or before July 31 of the following calendar year. A player’s age is calculated as her age on July 31 of the current soccer year.
2. Younger players are allowed to play in an older age division with the consent of their coach and parents. However, NTSSA rules state that any player who has not attained the proper age to play Under 11 select soccer may not play up on a competitive (select) team. Players must be 10 years old or older on July 31 to participate in competitive soccer the following soccer year.

Xara - WRONG!
LHD/Blank - Correct!
Any U11 Player can play up to U12. (On July 1, the 01s will be U11 and they can play up to U12 if they can find a coach willing to give them a spot.)
No U10 Player can play up in any NTX competitive league.

So you can play up through Academy, but have to stay down in Academy the last year when your team former team is now playing select. Find an academy team to play with that last year of academy. But, when your age group goes select, you can bypass your first year select age group and new found academy to again play with your old teammates who have a year of select under their belts. That's assuming they have a spot or some other team will take you. Correct??
