So you can play up through Academy, but have to stay down in Academy the last year when your team former team is now playing select. Find an academy team to play with that last year of academy. But, when your age group goes select, you can bypass your first year select age group and new found academy to again play with your old teammates who have a year of select under their belts. That's assuming they have a spot or some other team will take you. Correct??

That is correct. We had an '02 on Solar Montemayor for the last four years and she has finally had to find an '02 team as we roll into select. Next year she will be able to join the team and play up her first year of select.

That is right and my response was worded incorrectly. It's a good lesson on proof-reading. A player cannot play up with an older team going into select play for the first year. So a current 02 practicing with an 01 team cannot play in LHGCL beginning this summer. Does that make more sense?

Yes that is exactly right. 02s are not eligible to play with 01s in select leagues. Starting this July 1!
