Bottom line.. make sure she will be on a team where she will actually play and make a difference.

New2thisstuff wrote:Don't be a roster filler! 14, 15 and 16th on a roster for someone that is used to playing will be a tough year of no game play and she will be in jeopardy at the end of the season of being cut. Make sure she is in the top group of girls on the team. If she isn't, then move on. Be realistic about her abilities. People come from out of state where their kid played at the higher levels and they try to do that here... it isn't the same. Take her to one of the top teams and get the coaches assessment. And you assess where her skill level as compared to the rest of the team. You will know very quickly if she can keep up. Most top teams are filled at this point.

Most of the top teams are not full! Spots are left available for that player from out of town that can impact a roster.

parisaz wrote:Hi there! I am hoping that this forum will help me navigate the waters of the soccer programs in the Allen Area. My daughter is currently on a Select Soccer team in Seattle, called Crossfire. She is on the U-12 team (born May of 2002) and plays left mid and left forward. We are going to be moving to Texas on August 22nd and I am hoping that we can still find a team for her to get on. Any help in navigating the waters would be great! Or if there are coaches looking for a player, please let me know. We are very anxious to make this transition as easy as possible for the kids...and getting on a soccer team for her would be great. Thanks!

Hopefully your DD has found a team, since this was put out back in July. If not, here is some contact info on the Clubs in NTX
