Scores just don't tell the whole story all of the time.Cleansheets wrote:I would have to disagree with that. I will be the first to admit that I am DTS fan and they are fantastic team but Mustangs FC had them on the ropes during their game, just as an example. That game ended in a 0-0 tie.Sockher13 wrote:If we got out played I would be the first to admit that. But that wasn't the case. We just couldn't find the back of the net like we usually do. Again, the only teams I can give kiddos to right now is LP Barnes and LFS.
First off, our girls are doing great. I think Sting is just a couple of pieces away from being a top 4-5 team and we will be there by QT.
Second, I saw the Mustangs/DTS game (our bracket), and NO sorry. Not even close was DTS on the ropes. I think Mustangs got DTS on two break-aways that almost scored but possession was 70-80% DTS and DTS had 3-4 corners and Mustangs had none. Honestly DTS outplayed us getting multiple chances inside the box on good ball movement up top but just didn't finish and it seems they struggled with that all tournament. From what I saw they moved the ball the best among the teams but that just doesn't matter when you don't score.
I didn't see Barnes game so I don't know about that one.

I also might add what a confusing post. You Sound like a DTS horn tooter but come across as Mustang parent by the use of the word "us" in reference to playing against DTS.MustangGT wrote:Scores just don't tell the whole story all of the time.Cleansheets wrote:I would have to disagree with that. Sting Scarfone played DT South in bracket play. It wasn't THAT confusing.Cleansheets wrote:I also might add what a confusing post. My mistake, I stand corrected on who "us" was but do not agree on your take on that game. Alas, just like someone said a few posts back, everyone's entitled to their own opinion.ballboy wrote:Sting Scarfone played DT South in bracket play. We also played DTS this week.
And sorry, no mistaking it. Mustangs only chances came on break away long balls out of DTS possessions.

Re: 04 Labor Day Tournament
Good summary of the tourney here. Congrats to LP Barnes but I don't think a whole lot was shown on who the dominate teams were, including those who were ousted early. This is a good thing. Should make for a lot of exciting soccer this fall.kixR4Adults2 wrote:I notice an eagerness to bury DTS...I see no mention of other teams that lost early... DtS ousted TX spirit who beat Barnes....LFS beat Scott that ousted kitterman who LFS tied and DTS beat Sparta who ousted the mustangs who DTS tied...so to me CLEANSheets you sound like an everyone but DTS horn blower. Just good soccer hot weather and lots of both to tell the truth.

I just wish I wasn't stuck out of state all tournament. Sounds like it was an exciting weekend.

Re: 04 Labor Day Tournament
We are CLEAN...but blood is thicker than water and I have to defend the Texans FAM cause no one else will.... plus I got word that an own goal kinda deflated DTS after Barnes went up 1-0...don't know how true that is but we were both a game away from an all Texans finale...Cleansheets wrote:C'mon now Kix, I thought you and I were tight. You know I am one of DTS's biggest fans.I just thought it was a closer game than others thought it was, and what on earth ever gave you the idea that my DD played...ahem...goalkeeper. FYI MustangGT, my DD plays for Sting.
