6 games, 6 wins - 11 goals 3 against.
Liverpool taking home some silverware! shout out to LP Barnes. A loss is few and far between with that team.

The Colony. A LP Redknapp/Carragher 2 team co-coach endeavor with MS & TD. Not a bad way to start the campaign.soccerdad1969 wrote:Where are they out of?The Real Decoy wrote:who predicted the brand new LP Carragher team would win the silver bracket

So is this the old Redknapp team with Carragher added? Where are they playing this fall? Always thought Redknapp was an underrated team. The Real Decoy wrote:The Colony. Currently the majority of the players are from the Redknapp team as there are 21 players between the two. The new players that have come out so far have made a huge impact.soccerdad1969 wrote:So is this the old Redknapp team with Carragher added? Where are they playing this fall? They'll be playing SDL 1&2 until the rosters fill out with the right players, and both will be in top leagues/divisions together by Spring when that happens.
Practices are M/W 630-8 @ Blue Sky in The Colony

Re: 04 Labor Day Tournament
Now, now Kix. I believe this is all a carry over from when DTS played Sparta two weeks back in a 0-0 tie and then the missing players report came in on a few DTS players. I think more so because DTS is suppose to be one of the "Elite" team of the '04's and to have less of a stellar performance is not helping DTS cause.kixR4Adults2 wrote:I notice an eagerness to bury DTS...I see no mention of other teams that lost early... Now that I'm thinking, I dont recall any team (in '04) ranked so high for so long tie two teams (0-0), not score more than five goals, and get shutout in last game. Make you wonder have other teams improved or the DTS train has slowed down. Im just call it as I see it..
** Not a disrespect to DTS but the team that DTS played to ties where ranked in the twenties in FBR **

Re: 04 Labor Day Tournament
SDL1 may actually be more competitive than SDLP due to the Sunday league play. Would be cool to have a champions league/playoff with the top 4 of each league (if SDL kept results).soccerdad1969 wrote:Wish there was a way for these teams to play each other more often. Looks like there are quality teams in both SDL and TGPL this season. To early IMO to say which one is more competitive. Wish there was a way to bring the two leagues together for cross play on Sundays.

Ooooh, I like. Just like UEFA CL! Maybe set it up for next spring. I'd even buy the CL star ball. The Real Decoy wrote:SDL1 may actually be more competitive than SDLP due to the Sunday league play. Re: 04 Labor Day Tournament
Somebody will probably start a thread about new rankings but the top tier teams seem to be in no particular order LFS, LP Dalglish, LP Barnes, DT Scott, DTS, TX Spirit, and Sting Scarfone. Close behind are Lady Aztecs, TX Spirit North, Sting Goodman, and Sting East. This is based on quality of play I've personally seen the last few months and not just scores. LP RASE is obviously the top team. And there might be a team or two I'm forgetting. Have fun in league play.

And that was wayyy longer than 2 weeks back and DTS never really been a high number scorer...their defense has been their staple.

Ok, Anyway you prefer to look at it, still dont looks good on the resume for a top 3 team.kixR4Adults2 wrote:And beat the #6 team that beat the #5 team that beat the #4 team...sooo...Son_ofa_Pitch wrote:Now, now Kix. Both the goals against DTS today came on defensive errors.kixR4Adults2 wrote:We are CLEAN...but blood is thicker than water and I have to defend the Texans FAM cause no one else will.... plus I got word that an own goal kinda deflated DTS after Barnes went up 1-0...don't know how true that is but we were both a game away from an all Texans finale...Cleansheets wrote:C'mon now Kix, I thought you and I were tight. You know I am one of DTS's biggest fans.I just thought it was a closer game than others thought it was, and what on earth ever gave you the idea that my DD played...ahem...goalkeeper. FYI MustangGT, my DD plays for Sting.
First goal was from a long high ball into the box. Defender went to head it back to where it came from, and instead it skipped off her head toward the goal. I thought it was going to go over the goalie, but she made an awesome acrobatic one-handed save jumping backward (save of the weekend from the games I saw). Unfortunately when she slapped it to keep it out of the goal, it dropped down still in play in front of one of our girls, just to the right of the goal. She passed it back a few feet to someone looking at an open goal...
Second goal was an own goal. It was a low, fast shot from a ways out, and the goalie was in a perfect position to make an easy scoop, until a defender put a foot on it. Slight deflection, nothing the goalie could do.
Both were in the second half, if I recall correctly.

Re: 04 Labor Day Tournament
New goalie is one of the Fe\/er additions that you called 'dead weight', right? She played great this weekend. Previous goalie is out with a broken arm.Soccerboy wrote:To the Barnes LP kids....congrats on the win. Any kid who can battle 105 degree heat deserves respect. As far as games, Sting Scarfone was close to making my eatly prediction come true. Looks like Barnes picked up a new goalie, who played great. Good defenders who kept the scores low once they got out of a easy Bracket 4 and into the quarters, made the Barnes team tough to beat and kept the scores close. Every team that made it to quarters could have won and made for an exciting tourny. I figured the Barnes coach would WHIP the girls in shape. I hope the whipping doesn't reduce the team to fewer than 11 players.

Re: 04 Labor Day Tournament
I don't think the top 5 has changed any. Many of the games could have gone either way from the quarter-finals onwards.
Oh, and soccerboy's obsession with LP Barnes (see his post history) needs to be monitored and suppressed with prescription medications.
