Not to take anything away from these teams at all, but do gotsoccer rankings really have any legitimacy at all- especially in this age group?

My understanding was it had more to do with what leagues/tournaments you play in that use gotsoccer. Given I have seen some d3 teams with higher rankings than D1 I assumed that to be correct. But curious if they truly have meaning?

Is it like yelp? Use our promoted services, or don't get ranked.

It's a very specific formula, and it rewards teams that play the most tournaments against other good teams.

NTX could dominate gotsoccer rankings like socal if our top teams would play eachother in local tourneys 7 to 10 times a year.

Only 7 to 10 bom   And I assume they would have to use gotsoccer also of course Very Happy

This ranking doesn't appear to take in account for teams playing up in tournaments. FCD plays almost all tournaments in the '01 bracket while other teams stay in '02 winning those tournaments and getting higher rankings.

It doesn't give you more points for playing up, but if you play up against top competition...I.e. 4 or 5 other teams are highly ranked, you will get lots of points. If FCD had played up and won PLD 01 gold they would've gotten as many points as winning vegas or surf cup. Playing up gets you nothing if few of the teams you play are in the top 2pct of their age group nationally.
